Vitali never rematched Chris Byrd and chickened out of a fight with Rahman. See how easy that is? I'm a Vitali fan but apologist bitches like you piss me the hell off.

Fighting on the undercard and fighting for the biggest title in sports is two different things.

Wauw this thread has quite predictably been derailed.

A few more rounds and Vitali possibly wouldnt have made it to where he is today as a future HOF, because he would never have fought again. Thats purely from a medical injury standpoint. That fight had to end there and then, and regardless of the scorecards Lewis did that Vitali and the fight was stopped, for Vitali's sake, not for Lewis'
I sometimes wonder how Vitali joyboys would feel if he'd have been allowed to continue, got knocked out and/or permanently lost his vision in his left eye. Would they be happy? It sometimes seems they would be, the sadistic ****s.

Rahman and Byrd, are you serious? He had to fight Johnson in the eliminator after Lewis and then Sanders for the belt, then Danny Williams, altho it was supposed to be Mike Tyson obviously. Rahman and Byrd, lol. Wlad smashed them up anyway.

It is pure poetry seeing ItsOvah and JoeyZagz go to work on these Klit licking clowns.

Even though this topic has been done to death, I never get bored of it!!!

                    .
Wrong again. Kirk Johnson was not for a title, just a walkover match like Ovah said.

                    ****sideboxing article from 2003:

Since May 5 a world championship between WBC champion Lennox Lewis and Dr. Vitali Klitschko is settled. Both signed a contract for a WBC world title contest that must take place until December at the latest.

In the fight between Lennox Lewis and Kirk Johnson the WBC belt will not be on the line.
I doubt Lennox was even training for Kirk Johnson. He was very lazy and disinterested at that point of his career. On two weeks notice Lennox got an opponent who was a half foot taller with a 95% ko ratio.

It was fair for both sides.

Based on quality of opposistion and success, I'd have to go with Lennox Lewis.

Since 1981, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, and Lennox Lewis have been the best four heavyweights, IMO.

Reasons why Lewis is on top and the others are not:

                      Mike Tyson:
Tyson dropped the ball in his toughest challenges: Douglas and Holyfield....though I do think he would have beaten Buster in a rematch. And, in all honesty, anything Tyson did after his prison-stint should be looked at with astracts, 'cause I don't think his heart was in it any more at that point. And, unfortunately, he went to prison when the division got interesting.

                      Larry Holmes:
Holmes could have been the best; but, whether his fault or not, he didn't fight all the best of his era. While he did beat some very good fighters, they were usually very young in there careers when he met them....and, with the exception of Shavers and M. Spinks, I can't think of a rematch he had. When you consider that Witherspoon and Weaver gave him such a fit and they went on to win a "title" of there own, Holmes should have rematched with them and unified the belt. Granted, Don King was controlling boxing at that time; but still we don't truly know that Larry would have come out on top. Other reasons to doubt: Michael Dokes...never fought him. Pinklon Thomas...never fought him. Pierre Coetzee....never fought him. Greg Page...never fought him.

I'm not saying Larry couldn't have beaten these fighters....I'm saying he didn't. And that leaves question marks.

                      Evander Holyfield:

Evander lost too many times. While he did beat Rid**** Bowe, it was one out of three. He did beat Mike Tyson; but it was after prison. He did beat Michael Moorer...the second time. He didn't beat Lennox Lewis in two tries. Evander comes realy close....but doesn't quite make it, IMO.

The winner, and still champion: Lennox Lewis cause he did beat everybody he ever fought in a tough era....even if he did lose to two guys he shouldn't have originally....he did avenge those loses; spectacularly in the case of Rahman.
