Martinez as P4P number 3 should STFU and challenge Pacquaio, Mayweather or Pavlik!

Martinez would humiliate Cavez Jr, honestly its only a fight worth watching if you want to see Chavez get exposed for what he really is, a paper champ.

Imagine how many people would tune in with Martinez, not to the mention the people who would attend the fight in LA.

Man, I don't even think Martinez is doing it for the money. At least not doing it for however much he'll be making against Chavez. (Chavez would certainly get all the ticket money) He's doing it so he could get his own fanbase. Only way to do that is fight another big name. The same way every other fighter first gets big. Fighting Chavez would do more for his career than beating any of the Super Six guys. Maybe it won't do anything for the tiny hardcore boxing fanatic community, but it'll help him tons more with the general public where it matters.
I was talking in terms of his resume. What does JCC Jr do for his resume, absolutely nothing. He can go on to fight JCC Jr and knock him out but what does that say? That he beat an overhyped fighter who wasn't that good to begin with. He could be fighting the likes of Pirog or Felix Sturm. Instead he wants to call out welterweights he has no chance of getting a fight with.

Too many of you are letting your emotions ruin your judgment...you're justifying this fight by sayin well, he's 35 and needs a name to fight...Really? That's how we're going to pick and choose fights now? BTW I DON'T MIND the fight, if it happens cool, but not for those reasons, ****. I don't think Junior is ready...I can't be mad at his people taking it slow with him, everyone progresses at their own rate....and maybe he doesn't progress anymore, maybe this is it...I don't know. Again, I still don't mind the fight, but don't get it twisted, I don't believe he's ready, I'm not gonna b*tch if he says "give me 1-2 more years." When I look at the landscape, I can't help but think, 'dude just fight Pirog and get that fight out of the way, bank a little doe and then move to Junior...or another name, maybe a Sturm. okay, so in the plainest of terms:

I DON'T mind the fight because Junior does have a belt...you should be obligated to fight.

I DO mind the fight because I'm a fan of the sport and frankly Junior aint ready, why support a fight I don't necessarily believe in...yet.

One thing about this fight, as unprepared as I picture Junior to be, I think it'll be entertaining, they'll go at it, exchange punches. Say Junior gets inside and really puts in that body work, this fight could turn around and be fairly competitive, anything could happen...I want the fight, just not yet.

He should have went Top Rank or even GBP. Then he would have big money fights that can build his name with Cotto and a Magarito rematch. And he would have a better shot a getting a Chavez Jr fight. Might even be able to snag a PPV fight.
