Displeasing to see him advertising Alvarez as just a straight monster, as if his strategy was perfect and there was just nothing more he could have done to try and win the fight.

If Rhodes thought Canelo hit hard...He dosen't want to feel none of Angulo's punches.

      Brutal KO...

But back to Europe to pad that record to more before being destroyed by another young prospect.
People seem to forget that for alot of fighters boxing is their job. Just because they can't compete at the top level doesn't mean they should retire. He can still make some good money at European level so why not continue fighting?

Rhodes fought Alvarez a little like McCloskey fought Khan, except the guy he was walking up on doesn't have Khan-like in and out movement and footspeed, so there was less reason to be throwing so little.

Alvarez does have some fast hands and crunching power, so it was always far from a cinch to win, and I expected Rhodes to have to eat some leather to do it - but that winning effort just wasn't there, whether through strategic miscalculation, a shortfall of moxie on Ryan's part, or a combination of both.

I like Ryan a lot, in and out of the ring, but it's probably time to accept he's never been quite good enough to mix it at world-class, whatever the weight division. There's always been a deficit of some quality or other required on any given night.

At his best, though, an excellent domestic/European level fighter.

Rhodes should fight Matt Hatton, but will that happen because of Ricky?

Exactly! What use would boxing be if we didn't have fighters who were willing to lose, then fight on. It would be like the premier league with only 4 teams. Why the hell should Rhodes retire just because he got beaten by an admittedly much better fighter??

Hear hear. Someone else made me laugh aswell, saying "you just got beat by a ginger kid...retire" as if they'd do any better. Some proper muppets on this website!
