What happened in the Martinez-Geale negotiations?

Why couldn't they reach a deal? That would have been a good fight. I remember DiBella saying they tried to get both him and Sturm for October. I could understand Sturm declining because he still has a fight ahead, but Geale should have jumped on that opportunity...

I'm just really pissed about this Barker fight...it's a waste of Martinez's prime. There's no telling when his age will start to kick in. If he wants to fight a nobody, at least fight one with a title like Pirog or Golovkin...heck even Rubio would have been better.

Well I can't knock him for that. Hopefully he and Martinez meet in early 2012.

I still wish Martinez would pick a more solid nobody...Rubio would probably f**k Barker up in Lemeiux fashion. I hope he's just a place holder to keep the October date until they find a better opponent.
