I see a bunch of people here commenting on how good el Canelo looked & his performance did look better than it has in past fights, he showed a better defense, he was coming in throwing his shots & moving out & moving around the ring & at times picking his shots from the outside..But his opponent had a lot to do with that cause he practically fought a moving punching bag that threw shots every once & a while & most of them were at the wind..Rhodes performance made Mathew Hatton(Canelo's last opponent) look like a real top quality fighter(& he's NOT, he's the total opposite)..Canelo had the fight in his pocket before it even started cause Rhodes went in there with a loosing mans mentality by saying that the ONLY way he could win was by KO cause he was NOT going to win a decision & had NO game plan except to go for the KO & 90% of the time fighters with that mentality end up loosing!! & by the way Rhodes fought, he barely tried to go for the KO, he was just trying to survive the 12 rounds...At the end of the night Rhodes made Canelo look better than what he actually is...& by the way, the pics here are deceiving cause that knockdown wasn't caused by a punch, the replay clearly showed that Canelo missed & Rhodes tripped on his own feet..That's why he got up fine & stood right in front of Canelo & didn't try to move or hold on..

Canelo is less of a hype job than Chavez,jr. But both need to face some REAL competition, not just chumps to make easy money.

****** haters. You were saying that Canelo should have fought Rhodes instead of Hatton and now you call him a bum??? In that case, Cotto fights bums cause he fought Mayorga. Pacman fough a coward Mosley. Mayweather fought a tiny Marquez and never hurt him. Canelo is good, Chavez is good also; maybe not suoerstars but they are good.
