Golovkin Was Fighting To Much With His Face And Needs To Work On Defence

& Head Movement.I was impressed he was able to stop the tricky Ouma. But he was getting hit far to much, and at times was happy taking one shot to give two. That is just no good and at that rate he wont have a loing career.

Golovkin is alot more skilled than that, and needs to really work his defence and head movement. Because as much as am a fan of him, Sergio batters that version of him last night.

I actually disagree. That version of him last night would stylistically pose more problems than his amateur style. Martinez is someone who prefers distance where he can pop off his quick shots, and someone who can burrow into him at close range and force a quick pace would give him trouble.

I agree that Golovkin needs to work on his head movement and everything however, and hopefully this was a learning experience. it takes fights like this to successfully transition to the pros.

Fighting 'face first' is sometimes the right way to fight, and it takes a lot of skill(and defense) to pull it off.

Gena has always shown real good head movement, but sometimes he thinks he just doesnt need it. lol

maybe hes too confident and the punches dont hurt him. Still, this is a no-go against elite comp.

Really man? He was to open and seemed happy to take one to give one. Against Ouma he got away with it. Someone as fast and accurate as Sergio that would spell pure disaster.

Sergio's accuracy is amazing, he's also turned into quite the puncher. That version of GG last night, I just don't feel gives Sergio no real problems.

well Golovkin needs more work, especially with head movement. but the attacking style he adopted last night would be a good choice against Martinez. it makes more sense to be that kind of pressure fighter against Martinez than someone that chills on the outside.

Serg has been fighting tall long fighters who stay on the outside were his accurate countering and footspeed give him a advantage the way GGG would want to fight him is the way he fought last night but yes with some more defensive responsiblity could Serg handle a grueling pace like that and keep him off his chest if it were fought on the inside idk. Golovkin still is not ready but he showed he can be a beast if need be.
Don't forget Ouma lands on everbody and isn't a puncher so he didn't seem to care about getting hit but when he steps up im sure he'll be more aware
