Chavez need a lot of more fight before he goes up against the big guy, i think he would be hurt seriously if they dont match him up properly, luckily he fights under Arum who would milk the mexican/latin/chavez snr name, if he fights under GBP he would probably had being KO by now with their matchmaking.

I could not believe Max even ask Chavez about Martinez..I would have thought he knew that fight had no chance of happening esp after he went to war with Zbik..I really was surprised and found that funny..

Gotta agree with what most are saying on here... if Zibik would have had more power, Jr. woulda been outta there. I doubt Jr gets any better then he is now, and I don't think they'll give him a real step up fight for a long time, if ever. All the top guys should be able to beat him IMO.

It's a shame with Pirog, that they didn't keep him moving quickly in the U.S. when he was running high off his defeat of Danny Jacobs. No one really knows how good this guy is right now, and he had a tough first defense of the WBO title after that, which many say he didn't look good. Can't be sure at this point if Pirog is as good as we think because of the Jacobs win, or if Jacobs was too green and inexperienced at the time and made Pirog look good. I'm not saying Pirog isn't good, just that we don't really know how good at this point. But from what I've seen, I think Pirog would take Chavez Jr out.

what are you guys talking about.
even martirosyan would of taken either of these guys out.

no worry of arum matching jr. up with martinez. its not time yet for arum to throw him into the lions den. he's still making mucho money.
golovkin would be a step up for jr. and he'd have a chance against a guy that doesnt move and stays in front. and this golovkin has no defense.
i'd be a winnable fight for chavez.
Vanes would whip him but he could step up and beat golovkin?

Au revoir credibility!!!!!! R u ***n crazy? Have you seen vanes fight? How bout golovkin?

On to the topic. Good fight, I had it 7-5 Chavez on my re-watch, 8-4 Chavez first time. I thought zbik was shoe shining and doing almost no damage while I though he was getting shook by Chavez jr. If Chavez jr had any power though he would have crumbled zbik (who was better than I thought)

I look for canelo to have a rougher night tonite.

I agree,I don't why these fighters don't get put in tough right after a big win like that..He could be lined up to fight a Martinez or something like that if moved properly..I think that would be a fun match up,Chavez seems like he takes a decent punch and I have to admit his body focus is crazy..Priog seems like a decent boxer with some pop in his punches..I would love to see these two mix it up,I actually think this fight makes sense tbh..

I don't know how it would turn out but I know it will be entertaining while it lasted..These promoters have got to start putting their guy's in tough after big wins..I always respected Martinez for that mentality..He won big and did not go into hiding but called the biggest threats around him out and challenge himself..These guy's need to do the same Chavez as well,he is a decent fighter I really do hope he challenges himself..You never know if he has a great fighter trap in there somewhere..

Boring bum fight. I just don't see the excitement you guys talk about. I tried to watch it several times but cant make it past the 4th rd. Arum will make Jr defend his title against 100 bums to build his win streak like Chavez Sr's but he ain't fooling anyone.
