He's got nothing to be ashamed of. He always came to fight and made it exciting and didn't duck anyone. He is retiring with his health in good condition and making a smart move by going to law school. I hate to see him go, but I wish him the best of luck.

everyone is so big on him and i don get it... sure he's a good young charismatic boxer
but to say 'the sport of boxing loses' i think is an overstatement
we've 'lost' much greater to much more tragic.... good for him that he is now able to do what he's going to do and good for him and boxing regarding the things he's been able to do in the ring

Unlike some average joe blow talking smack about him on the internet, Diaz is actually going to have an impact on people's lives. He wont need to come back to boxing because boxing didn't use him, he used boxing.

Im still shocked Malignaggi buckled him, Paulie has no power.
He can't KO you, but he can buckle you with a good shot.
And about Juan Diaz, not really gonna miss him. Didn't think much of him as a boxer, he was okay. But good luck to him with his new career.
