Mexico's Marco Antonio Rubio was very surprised with the recent statements that were made by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who told reporters that he would be willing to face Rubio if a "good deal" was presented. Rubio, the mandatory challenger, has earned his right to fight for the belt and took offense to Chavez's comments. He considers Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, the WBC 154-pound champion, to be products of the media. He won't give them the necessary respect until they face formidable opponents.
