GBP or Top Rank should sign this guy asap... He has a bigger fanbase than Pac!!

If Golden Boy Promotions or Top Rank were smart after London Olympics they should throw lots of cash to Vijender Singh, just imagine the fanbase this guy has! he will be 26 after the Olympics and this time he's going for the Gold.

Vijender Singh (a 6 feet, 25 years old Middleweight)

    He's a Superstar in India

His boxing style, hooks and uppercut are compared by the media with style of actor Sylvester Stallone as the character Rocky Balboa in the Rocky film series. Vijender cites him as one his primary influences, along with boxers Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali, and boxing promoter Don King.

After his Olympic win, Vijender emerged into mainstream media prominence in India and became the latest pin-up boy. Apart from boxing, Vijender took part in ramp shows also. However he commented that with partaking modelling, he wished to "bring the game [boxing] in the limelight, make it as popular as possible and catapult it to its deserving place at the top.

    Good article about him:

The ring was Vijender Singh's destiny. The strapping 22-year-old grew up in Bhiwani, the 'boxing nursery' of India, where most boys his age were also going to become strapping 22-year-olds with dreams of boxing glory. One stays ahead with aggression, focus and relentless self improvement. But they were tough to beat.

Vijender's is the story of most small-town sportsmen in India-not well off, must sc**** together enough money to stay in the game, sponsorships hard to come by and recognition extremely elusive. Things are difficult for these blazing, budding steeds. "A boxer's diet," Vijender points out matter-of-factly, "can be expensive." And that's just a small part of it.

"When you are cool, you are less likely to make mistakes, and more likely to do your best," says the boxing champ."
Vijender took up boxing in Class VII. "I always had the aggression and passion required for this sport," he says....

            Check this out

Thanks to the media, people have started taking boxing seriously over the past two years. Everyone knows my name now because my achievements have been highlighted. Lekin boxing ka toh kuch promotion hi nahin hota India mein. (But boxing is still not promoted in India!) We don’t have boxing academies, we don’t even have proper boxing rings. I have lost count of the times I have approached the government and the sporting authorities for support, but nothing has happened. [...] In this country, everyone is hung up on cricket. Forget about boxing, India is doing so well in other sports too. Saina Nehwal is a great badminton player, the Indian tennis team has just won a Davis Cup tie, lekin hamare liye support kahan hai? (where is the support for us boxers?)

Vijender is credited by the critics and the media for bringing the sport of boxing back into the limelight in India. His rise to the top rank of the boxing world has been an inspiration for the younger generation and has brought more aspirants and followers, to the sport.

Well Khan would have to go to Middleweight to fight him, lets remember that Vijender fights at 75 kg (165.3 pounds) in the Amateurs (almost Super Middleweight in the Pro ranks) and would have to go down 160 lbs.

Khan is 5'10 so in a couple of years he could go up to Middleweight ... just imagine that fight Pakistan vs India wow!!

              A promoters dream! hahahaha
