If he moved up to 147 and beat a top 5 opponent, I'd consider him a decent match-up for Floyd.

a Win over Zab then maybe fight Bradley by the end of the year if possible then early 2012 try to go fight for a Welterweight Belt either against Mike Jones (probably wouldn't fight him for his first Welterweight fight) or Jan Zaveck or Viacheslav Senchenko...then he might get his shot a Mayweather...IF Mayweather beats Ortiz of course...anything can happen in boxing though

He can't be any less ready than Marquez was when he fought Mayweather. Granted, Marquez had a wealth of experience to back him up - but he needed to spend perhaps twelve months (two, perhaps three fights) at the weight in order for him not to be so obviously out muscled by Floyd.

I agree. Khan is ready now. He already has the speed (and when he puts his mind to it - the accuracy) to at least cause Mayweather the kind of problems Judah did.

Floyd would be the obvious favourite. But he isn't getting any younger. The Floyd that put a beating on Judah is just that bit slower. And Khan doesn't have the mental fragility of Judah.

It's a good fight. I pick Floyd to win. But he would not be able to coast like he did during much of the Hatton and Marquez fights. Khan will catch him and Floyd will have to summon the same mettle that aided him against Mosley.

I'm actually surprised Floyd is fighting Ortiz. I'd say Kahn would be a bad match up for Floyd.

I think he believes Ortiz is inexperienced and doesn't have great defense. But Ortiz is young, fast, power, and he's getting the experience. Floyd is getting older (and slower). I think Floyd also believes he has to do something to keep himself relevant in the boxing world.

All it will take is 2 fights after Judah. 1 more big fight at 140. And go right to 147 and fight Berto or Ortiz if he loses to Floyd (Depending how he loses, if he does). After that he'll be acceptable to the public.

What does Khan have to do to be a credible opponent for Floyd in your eyes? Is he there now, would he need 2 or 3 more fights, would he need a couple more bigger names 1st, would he need 2 fights at WW 1st, or could he fihgt him in his 1st fight at WW? What would be acceptable to you to where you wouldnt criticize him for that fight

all khan has to do is unify at 140 lbs with bradley whilst looking impressive, then have a tune up at WW... then I'd say that fight is viable.
