Why is Haye Win Good For Boxing When He Plans To Retire?

Why are Haye fans so thrilled about the prospect of him winning when he has openly stated he plans to retire right after the win should he defeat Wladimir. How is that good for boxing to have the belts then re-fractured up?

True boxing fans, including those who are supporters of Haye but are TRUE boxing fans deep down, all know and agree one thing: The ONLY outcome that is GOOD for boxing is an ANNIHILATION of David Haye at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko.

One of the best things about boxing is unpredictability. People get bored of one fighter dominating, even more so when the fighter is as boring as watching a blank TV screen.

            ^^^This

If he truly beats Wladimir Klitschko there will be big demand for him to face Vitali, and HBO will be begging him to stage a couple fights on their network. I dont really believe the retirement thing.

as a haye fan one thing i dont get about haye....why cant he fight for atleast 3 or 4 more years then retire win or lose against klitschko...people really should not put down wladimirs chances he has 49 kos people must remember that even if he can box boring at times those jabs and straight rights are not jokes he can easily put down haye at the right time i give wlad a 60% chance to win and haye 40% chance to win i dont get why loads of people are getting over hyped and thinking this will be easy for haye infact it will be his toughest fight in his career to date yes im being serious valuev, harrison, barrett and ruiz are no where near as dangerous as wladimir but im just glad haye took him on good luck to both and may the best man win

for haye to become on the top he must beat both brothers and make couple of title defenses

because it is inspiring... its inspiration that encourages the next generation of fighters to come through.

Wlad is an effective and dominant HW with a distinguished career.... however watching a fit, 6'7", 250lb man adopt a safety first style is NOT inspiring... yes as a boxing fan i can appresiciate the skills.... but watching a naturally big and muscular man jab his way to victory against guys who barely measure up to him on a physical level is not satisfying

it's like tofu - u know its good for you and it contains loads of protein... but your hardly gonna start salivating at the mouth for it

Nope. If Haye beats Wlad he becomes the #1 HW.
