Canelo is OK. But Chavez,jr is an over protected little HO.Chavez should have fought Martinez and Canelo should have fought Angulo

Is Canelo more popular than Chavez jr?
I would think both have about the same fan base.
Chavez jr may have put fewer arses in seats, but he had more viewers on HBO.
As the HBO ratings go Canelo had the highest ratings last year, but Jr, had one of the highest ratings in like 5 years this year.
I guess we'll have to see this weekend how many tune in to see Alvarez.

Should have but won't happen. No way do GB or TR cash in their cash cow to guys who don't have much of a following. If anything Cotto will get the nod on Chavez jr, and Mayweather on Alvarez.

I've been to both fighters fights recently, Canelo at the Honda Center and Chavez Jr. at the Staple Center. Canelo pretty much filled up the Honda Center stadium, Chavez Jr. not so much...

At the Staple Center they were upgrading fans to better seats because almost half of the stadium was empty.

              So that's something.
