    Training/Bag gloves vs Fighting Gloves

Training or Bag gloves are made of a harder material than fight gloves, it's done that way to protect your hands while hitting the bag.
but are you allowed to wear training or bag gloves in the ring to fight?

Is all just a weight issue, or can the materials used not be taken into account...
    just wanna know.

The reason I ask is, looking at Mannys gloves in the Shane fight. Then along with what mosley is saying in the post fight presser (His punches felt hard), leads me to think he was using training gloves and not fight gloves.

The gloves for his fight against Mosley looked different than regular 8 ounce Cleto Reyes gloves. They looked padded. Gloves like Grant and Winning look that way at 8 ounces, but not Cleto Reyes gloves.

Are bag gloves 18 ounces or what? I have 16 ounce Cleto Reyes that I use on the different bags and 16 ounce Grants that I use for sparring. A good friend told me to have a set of gloves for sparring and a set for hitting the bags.

When I was boxing, we never used gloves on a bag, they were reserved for sparring. We used what were then called "mitts", much more thinly padded. I suppose they'd actually have been "mittens". A fully covered hand and thumb with this padding, and sometimes rather loose fitting. A little like the very old time pictures of the gloves on fighters, with probably even less padding.

All I'm saying is the shyt seems funny. Along with what Mosley says in the post presser. He refers to his shots as "Something special", "Hard"

Training gloves, or bag gloves are at least 14oz.

You think Manny is going to wear anything more than 8oz? He doesnt even want to wear 8oz WINNINGs because of the extra cushion, let alone 10oz for any gloves.

For 1, the commission wouldnt allow it, 2) ****m would catch it, 3) they dont make 8oz training gloves for Reyes

And for arguements sake, you wouldnt wear training gloves in a match because it would seriously effect your handspeed, and your punch stamina.

Bottomline, you have to be ******ed to think he would wear training gloves during a PRO fight. . There's no other way of putting it. Youre ******ed.

Lets also add to the fact that for high profile fights, gloves are chosen in front of the commission and your opponent.

Nah, I don't think he's on something. Manny Pacquiao just trains very very hard. He was already a knockout puncher in the lighter weights. I have a feeling it has more to do with how he throws his punches, his speed, and his southpaw stance. If people insist on speculating...look at Chavez Jr. or Khan, those guys don't look spectacular and are trained by the same people.
