survive the first couple of rounds with as little KD as possible

he'll take the majority of rounds imo.

All jokes aside, he needs to box. It sounds simple but a boxer like JMM CAN actually make it that simple. When Marquez gets in to a fire fight with Pacquiao, which he loves doing, no matter if it's 126, 130, 135, 140, 147, he will be outmatched, we've seen it happen before. When Marquez boxes, he gives himself a better chance to win, when he goes toe to toe, he gets knocked down or loses the trading. Marquez knows more boxing than all of us put together, but it's his choice the way he decides to fight. I see he says he's gonna fight unlike Mosley, if he decides to fight the way I think he's gonna fight, then good luck with that. If he's gonna fight but fight smart then he has a better chances at not looking so bad.

he wont be able to set up traps since he no longer has the same reflexes or speed that he had at featherweight. I can see it now, pacquiao will go in and marquez will do his counter punching but he will look really slow.

The weight may very well be an issue, but I dont care. JMM deserves another fight with Manny after winning at least 2/3rds of their shared rounds.
Totally agree. His style alone is going to give Manny problems especially if ****in old ass Mosley can make Pac look ugly, Marquez is the better counter puncher at this point he's going to throw back on the defensive and Manny's going to have some difficulty. Is it enough to make it another close war again? Or is the weight going to make it a clearer decision win for Pac because their's no way in hell I see Marquez getting knocked out. Too much heart and chin. He ALWAYS gets back up.

I agree but the reality is many things have changed since 2008 for JMM and Manny. Not only physically but also the way we see these two fighters. Manny is at the top his game and in his prime and JMM is seen as a fighter on his way out with declining skills.

He was hit a lot more than usual in his last few fights and was knocked down by Katsidis. I just don't see him being able to do enough, to even gain a decision because if he just sits back and boxes, it might not be enough for the judges to give a fight to a fighter that doesn't have much of a future ahead of him

I think JMM either has to dominate this fight or knock Pac out or down a few times to have a chance to win. Don't see it happening.

His reflexes are still there, I don't know why you would say otherwise. Pacquiao has always been vastly faster than Marquez, but you should know the old saying "timing beats speed." That's what JMM needs to do.

And I agree with Kev, avoid going toe to toe that's what got him knocked down & rocked before.
