Comments Thread For: Matthysse: No Decision, I Want To Knock Alexander Out!

Argentinian junior welterweight contender Lucas Matthysse has vowed to score his sixth knockout in his past seven fights when he meets southpaw, former WBC titlist Devon Alexander at Family Arena, Saint Charles, Mo., before what is expected to be a crowd partisan to Alexander on June 25.

couldn't have picked a higher risk/lower reward opponent. if devon completely outboxes him everyone will just say "oh he was a one dimensional puncher, flat footed, etc., etc.". i agree with cunningham, matthysee is a beast. lol he needs to rid himself of that rat tail, though. i still can't pick this fight yet, but im leaning towards devon

Well they robbed you against Judah and they robbed Kotelnik against Alexander and they robbed Rhodes against Lockett so yes, I think you need a knockout because we all know who the judges will favour no matter what.

          Alexander wins easy.

Matthysse is completely unproven, he's made a name by knocking out Argentinian bums, when he fought any one half decent he struggled and lost although it was close.

Alexander is better than Judah at this point, if Devon boxes smart he'll make Matthysse look like a fish out of water. The medicine to counter any hard hitting, durable fighter is always, always, skilled and slick boxers.

I like to hear that Matt's,I think he has a good shot at doing it too..Esp if Devon comes in this fight trying to prove something and does not fight on the move he will pay for it..I'm interested in this fight can't wait for it to happen..

Lucas Matthysse is a Real Man™

Lucas has a real good shot at beating Alexander. His last two fights were against two slick southpaws. If Lucas can't beat Alexander on June, he can never beat him.

Cunningham has been very quiet this time around.

A KO is his only shot I feel so he better be looking for it.

If this goes to points, he's lost. Alexander's workrate alone can win this fight if he doesn't get into too many exchanges. An agressive, constant charge and pressure tactic could do well for Matthyse as well but has to up his workrate a lil more to try get more rounds.

Alexander on his backfoot is surely going to benefit Lucas if his workrate is good.

Either way, good win for both really but Alexander should take this.
