Los Mochis, Sin - Fernando "Kochulito" Montiel wants to prove that he's back. He faces the dangerous former world champion Nehomar Cermeno of Venezuela on June 25 at the Banorte Stadium in Culiacán, Sinaloa. This will be Montiel's first ring appearance since the crushing two round knockout to Nonito Donaire in February in Las Vegas. "Kochulito" Montiel (43-3-2, 34 KOs) has been training for weeks in order to be 100% ready for his super bantamweight contest with Cermeno (20-3-0, 12 KOs).

Dude has the heart of a lion and balls of King Kong. Even when he got floored the dude managed to get up and give it a last go...personally i think he's not ready to succumb and will possibly want a rematch with DOnaire later down the road...you can see he had the instinct and guts to try and keep going but his body gave out. Vamos Montiel, Mexico esta contigo.

I remember i was at a Chinese restaurant with my girls family..and the fight was on. I was the only Mexican surrounded by all filipinos lmao...so when Montiel broke down my heart broke but all the filipinos laughed when dude's body was contracting..man i got pissed off and cursed in tagalog lmao. Anyway Donaire is the best fighter out there in the lower weights and personally my favorite.

For sure. I think he should focus and go for it man. If he does he'll solidify his greatness in boxing history.

Why do people keep saying this?

Muscle memory is when you do something over and over for a period of time and it becomes natural. Unless Montiel was getting knocked half unconscious every day in the gym for years, it wasn't muscle memory that got him to his feet.

What got him up was instinct, pride and the heart of a champion. The same things which made Mike Tyson fumble around trying to get his mouthpiece back in when he got KTFO by Douglas.
