    Mike Tyson's style

Just a question about mike Tyson's style..

Could he beat A slick defensive boxer like mayweather jr ? If so, what would Tyson need to do to win?

Let's say Tyson was 147 pounds not heavyweight..with the same devastating KO power and speed he had as a heavyweight!

    Thanks

just stay on the attack, pressure, & ruff him up. Im not saying it would work but its possible, e****ally on a lesser pure boxer then Mayweather. Get in his chest & stay there. Tyson had the speed/power to do that. With that being said, you could also see Floyd just circling & easily keeping him on the end of his jab while landing blistering straight rights & uppercuts

Michael Spinks was a slick defensive fighter and he probably packed a better punch than Floyd does too.

the way to beat a defensive slickster is to swarm relentlessly. Tyson would've KOed Floyd at the same weight.

Look what ATG Castillo did and we all know he punches harder than Mike P4P.

To an extent, he'd be the fighter that Jose Luis Castillo was in the first fight with Mayweather when he kept the fight close except better. He'd be stronger and faster.

He could attack the body on the inside and theoretically, he wouldn't allow Mayweather to tie him up. (I'm taking into account that both are in their primes.)

Tyson would land. He'd land enough to hurt Mayweather. Whether or not he finishes him is another story. But, to beat him, he'd attack the body and keep up the pressure. Keep his defense up and tight and swing hard. Tough fight to call though, really.

P4P, a guy like Tyson would be helpless against a guy like Mayweather. Anyone who could box and had the strength to clinch has the basic tools to negate Tyson's strengths. Someone as skilled as Floyd would embarrass Tyson.

How would you see a 147 pound version of Tyson against Floyd? KO?

Tyson., before the head hunting, had no regard for his opponent defense. He'd have hit a guy like Floyd in the kidney and lower back everytime he bladed himself, and wouldn't have cared.

Thats what makes floyds defense so effective against the conventional stance. Your right hand isin danger of hitting floyd in the back and you'll be penalized.. so you end up needing a good front hand, or be southpaw. Because your power hand is useless or else you're penalized.

Mike wouldnt have cared. Proof of this was in sparring with Mccall (vids may still be up) McCall tried to stop the work numerous times, and even left the ring during a session because Mike kept hitting him in his back and hip, he kept complaining.
