How important is a great trainer for great fighters?

Been having a debate with mates about how the likes of pac and other top level fighters would do without their respective trainers and whether they would just carry on to be just as good if they were to part ways or even whether they need a decent trainer at all?

I think trainer should be more then just a guy who is holding pads like finding the right sparring partners and understanding the fighters mood and etc... if a coach is able to do that then yes he is worth it.

If all a coach does is hold a pad and yells and screams at ya then he needs to go the fawk home!!!!

I think a guy needs a great trainer for them, every trainer is not for every fighter and that relationship is key to getting the best out of a fighter.
