First of all. Pavlik was damn near too much, williams aswell in terms of size. Sergio is not 6 foot. EVERY top guy at 168 is over 6'1". Bute, Froch, Ward, Kessler are all 6'1. Dirrel is 6'2. and they are all HUGE men naturally. Not everyone wants to jump up in weights their entire careers. It's that simple. DEAL WITH IT.

Just because Pac and Floyd did it means what exactly? They wanted to, good for them. The same question can be asked to any fighter Sergio calls out. 168 is not "his break". By "his break' he is talking big pay days. He already has a name big enough to ask for big events - 168 will not help that at all. He will not do ANY ppv numbers with ANYONE at 168 because NONE OF THEM are that well received in the states.

And where are Williams and Pavlik now.. Williams at one point was trying to force his body to move down to 147 just so he can get the fights against Floyd and Pac.. Martinez doesnt even want to do that...


If he doesnt want to move up and dont want to take the risk then he should not be complaining about being avoided.. Are you telling me that Sergio cannot bulk up a few pound to be a 168 fighter...Sergio is 6'1 so dont tell me he doesnt have the body frame to be a 168 fighter. And he is not like a brawler like Marg and Pavlik.. The man is a skilled boxer which means that he can be effective at 168 based on his skills alone...

Pac and Floyd are reaping the rewards now because they took the risk of moving up a division. These two were natural LWW at one point but they moved up so that they can get the big fights that they wanted..
If Sergio wont do this then he is stuck fighting mandatories and fringe opponents. Its his choice..

martinez is ****in dumb. this is a Public Relations disaster and martinez just alienated another potential fan base, the Puerto Ricans.

He's two fights removed from the Pac fight and he's going to fight Margarito, the man who beat Cotto and pummeled Martinez. I don't see what's wrong with Cotto going with Margs first and foremost.

the pac fight is a no brainer. props to him. hes the best guy pac has fought since marquez. but since then? he got his belt from foreman. thats good, i ave no problem with that. mayorga? washed. margarito? washed. if u guys dont get it already, margarito is shot. ull get it soon. fighters dont take the beating he took from pac and come back as top guys. cotto took a beating too, dont get me wrong. but margs was frikkin brutalized and he didnt even look good in his fight before that.

Martinez is on top of his game right now and is one of the 3 P4P fighters out there today. He is not getting the big money fights that he craves so now looks like he is retorting to name calling and bashing to get attention.

No one is upset here. I am just sayin that there are options for better fights if he just would take the risk, and move up to 168 which he can do..Pac and Floyd moved up to a loaded division even though they were nature LWW and look at where they are now.. Why cant Martinez do the same??.
