Other top fighters have brought this up, but it isnt going to change if the commissions or even the television companies do something. Little known fact, ARD makes their fighters go through OST testing I'm pretty sure. Marco Huck and Dennis Lebedev went through it for their fight. It's just the norn for them
edit:
Originally posted by Rick ReenoJust so everyone is made aware. The WADA drug testing demand has NOTHING to do with Mayweather or that entire situation. Long before Mayweather made a stink for random drug tests, some of the networks in Germany required fighters, who were being televised, to undergo random drug testing to ensure the athletes were clean. All of the Sauerland Event fighters, from Povetkin to Abraham, are bound to take these type of tests. It has nothing to do with Mayweather or anything else. The WADA testing for Povetkin has been there for a long time.Last edited by warp1432; 06-13-2011, 02:19 PM.Comment

8 weeks? That's it? Then its obviously not ost.the only real flaw with this is if they really want "Olympic style testing" they need to randomly test fighters year round. If a guy knows how to cycle correctly, there is more than enough time to use PEDS between fights which a fighter can still reap from the benefits long after using. So yeah it makes sure the fighters are clean during the 8 weeks prior to a fight but there is no gaurantee they weren't using prior.
If Floyd was serious about drug testing wouldn't testing occur around a year before the fight?
8 weeks is obviously a joke, as even Victor Conte has admitted.Comment

I agree. Testing is better for the sport as a whole. I only give Manny lots of flak because he is acting like Barry Bonds did before he got popped. They should all get tested. Not just Manny. Year round and random.1. Do people really think Pac is the only elite boxer on PED's?
So ******.
2. How can you be against better testing? I understand why fighters and promoters would be against better testing. But, as fan of the sport how can you be against it? As fans of the sport why make excuses on why fights shouldn't have it?
It's ridiculous.Comment

“I think there are a lot of political pressures on the commissions, unfortunately. It’s not easy because you have big promoters threatening to take their fights elsewhere if they put in the type of testing that would detect cheating,” Tygart explained. “The promoters don’t want the event cancelled at the last minute due to some fighter using these dangerous drugs.”
Nailed it.Comment

Now with that said, imagine how badly flawed is the typical urine testing. When the best current way to detect cheaters, is 'flawed'.the only real flaw with this is if they really want "Olympic style testing" they need to randomly test fighters year round. If a guy knows how to cycle correctly, there is more than enough time to use PEDS between fights which a fighter can still reap from the benefits long after using. what good is it gonna make if the fighter knows that he is gonna be randomly tested anytime during his training??? .. if a guy knows that during his training camp he is gonna get tested randomly then wouldnt he just stop taking whatever he is??Comment

Boxing fans are not against blood testing, Pacquiao fans are against blood testing, it would just destroy them if Pac got caught taking steroids.1. Do people really think Pac is the only elite boxer on PED's?
So ******.
