Comments Thread For: Klitschko Disagrees With Steward: Wants Late KO Win

IBO/WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49KOs) has disagreed with the recent statements that were made by his trainer Emanuel Steward. When interviewed by a British broadcast network, Steward made a prediction that his boxer will finish off David Haye (25-1, 23KOs) in four rounds. Klitschko has other plans in store for the WBA champion. He doesn't want an early knockout. He wants to punish the WBA champion for the entire fight. They will unify their titles on July 2 at the Imtech-Arena in Hamburg, Germany.

i ike the klitschkos, but thats a bull**** statement, if you got a dangerous oponent in with you, you will not let the fight go on longer than it should, so when he gets the opportunity he will knock haye out and he knows that so why tell about that strategy

steward like others knows wlad does not give his all and just goes safe and leaves it till very late on for any kind of stoppage that is planned.

Wlad doesnt do what steward trains him i think, just does the same old easy comfortable jab, right hand, clinch, lean.

This is W.KLITSCHKO we're talking about here. He could take calderon to the 12th round by being too passive.

Wlad only ever fights one way. Color me amazed he suddenly deviates from type and goes head hunting Haye.

Why would he change his usual gameplan that has been working just great for years now?

It may come as a shock in a couple weeks but Haye is not some particularly special fighter or great challenge that Wlad has never encountered.

It may come as a shock to you that he is much better than anyone Wlad has previously fought. You will probably realise within the first minute of the fight. Wladimir has literally never fought a world class fighter before. It is not to say he can't win, but your ignorant or in denial if you think Wlad has faced a fighter the calibre of Haye before

Agreed. Nothing special about Haye. There's no challenge Haye possesses that Sam Peter, Sultan Ibragimov (a better fighter than Haye in every way) or Ruslan Chagaev (another better fighter than Haye) did not possess.
