this is ***** reasoning....shane was aggressive with pbf and kept on coming even if he cant hit him that much...pac knock him down and made him go on his bicycle for the entire fight and your telling me floyd did better? lolz idiot...Comment

Yeah, but the way the fight ended up being had nothing to do with the PPV numbers as they are purchased before the fight.
Arum said he would pin Pacquiao against Mosley because with Prime time promotion on CBS he was hoping Mosley would be easier to sell to the american public than Marquez.
And like I said 1.3 million isn't a failure, but its not what Arum was expecting. There is a reason it took this long to get the numbers.Comment

showtime doesnt have a good system like hbo does when counting ppv , they lack experience , just search the boards , it was explained why it took longer than expectedYeah, but the way the fight ended up being had nothing to do with the PPV numbers as they are purchased before the fight.

I've been watching boxing for a long time. Showtime has been doing boxing PPV's for a long time. Remember they did huge numbers when they had Mike Tyson on their network. So I don't buy the whole lack of experience getting numbers in. Clearly Arum was expecting more, as everyone was.
I thought for sure the fight would do 1.5 or more.Comment

Bobby is pulling out all the stops on this one. He is trying so hard to surpass Floyd in the PPV numbers that he has people still coming up with post fight PPV numbers...whats next, selling the fight on DVD at your local smoke shop to bump up the numbers even more? All that money spent promoting a sham of a fight and he they still can't out sell a guy who receives less publicity and when he does, its completely negative.
...but yeah, if Manny was American....lmao. Morons.Last edited by p4p-champ; 06-12-2011, 10:53 PM.Comment

this is manny's highest career ppv , he never sold 2mil or anything near that number , 1.3m is as good as his other ppv , infact higher than his norm , only *****'s are discrediting this figure , also he's at a point where the numbers are going higher , i expect his next ppv to continue the same trendI've been watching boxing for a long time. I am not discrediting the numbers, I am not, but you have to admit that with all the CBS promotions there would be more PPV sold. More than just 150k difference from the Margs fight.this is manny's highest career ppv , he never sold 2mil or anything near that number , 1.3m is as good as his other ppv , infact higher than his norm , only *****'s are discrediting this figure , also he's at a point where the numbers are going higher , i expect his next ppv to continue the same trend

And I don't remember exactly how long it took to get the PPV numbers from Showtime, as you must remember than when Tyson fought, the internet was not what it is today. I do remember the fights being Sat. and usually by Monday you would watch the highlights and news about the fight on your local TV channel. There I remember they talked about how Tyson broke the all time PPV buys, as he did that in 95,96, and 97. All on showtime.Last edited by JJRod; 06-12-2011, 11:18 PM.Comment
