    Boxer's Fracture

This seems like a good place to ask, I'm a complete amateur who only ever worked on a soft bag with gloves/wraps and all that.

problem is I got into a real fight a few months ago and due to my crap technique broke my hand (typical 5th metacarpal fracture)

Now I've seen a doc and he said it should be ok despite being angulated 30 - odd degrees, (he deemed surgery unnecessary) but I'm pretty pissed with the whole affair as I'm an artist/musician by occupation and need my hand as it was, I'm worried that it still aches 3 months after the break, but then I've never broken anything before so don't know how long to expect this feeling.

so, do any of you who've had this injury still get discomfort of nagging pains from this?
and can the knuckle get back into shape? (It's sunken now)

I probably won't punch anything after this .

3 months is some pretty hefty time. I would say go back to the doc and tell him/her about it. You should probably opt for the surgery if it's still bad after that long. However, the surgery can set you back even longer. Recovery and then the rehab. It's gonna suck, specially since you wont be able to do your music game.

As far as the knuckle going back to the previous shape. That won't happen, it's gonna be off forever. That's why boxers have ugly ass hands. I got lucky though, my hands are still model worthy.

I recently been on a string of injuries like crazy, so I know how you feel.

Shin splints, followed by blown out knee, followed by shin bone bruises, followed by leg burn, followed by shin stress fracture, coupled with partially torn rotor cuff.
