I dont know. Maybe because Stieglitz is only a draw in his adopted hometown of Magdeburg?

Kessler got a good look at Bute, first hand in Montreal, and said,"..hmmm...what if I get knocked out? I think I'll pass for now."

        I don't understand Kessler's choice here.

If he truly wants to fight the Super 6 winner he needs to go after Bute. Especially if Ward is the winner, but even if Froch pulls it off, Showtime will be looking to give that shot to Bute and maybe make a little money back off their investments in his last few one sided affairs.

If Kessler doesnt go after Bute and stake a claim for being one of the 2 best fighters in the division Ward is not even going to consider wasting his time rematching a fighter he already dominated.

Somehow I don't think Kessler's end game has anything to do with the Super 6. Just coming back and making a few bucks off the back of his loyal fans in fights he can't possibly lose.

kessler will never be in another meaningful fight. watch for him to fight guys like george blades and a trilogy with byron mitchell or something ******. choosing steiglitz confirms his path of least resistance.

Maybe he just wants a belt for when he does step up to one of the big guns. It will matter in the negotiations, and unification fights are always more marketable.

Also shake off some ring rust he spent a lot of time out and could do with a fight at a better technical level than his last fight. Pretty solid move if you ask me. It also appears as if 2 guys will end up fighting for all the titles this way, which is what every fan wants.

Not in the league. Kessler by ko inside 6.

Kessler is a good technical boxer. I think he's been underrated and wrongly branded after losing to Ward, but he bounced back with a great win against Froch. Make no mistake, he's still a threat to the 168 crown and if anyone deserves a shot at the Super Six winner, it is Kessler, not Bute.
