If that ever happens, Boxingscene would have to shutdown for weeks. As for Floyd, I see him retiring. I know it's only one loss but Floyd has put so much into that 0 that I think it would be too embarassing for him to make a come back. He's already rich, has a good resume for the history books, went undefeated for over a decade, and he's getting old. I think he would seriously consider a permanent vacation.

What's next for Floyd? Obviously his career isn't over its only one loss, but he's always lived off his undefeated record.

What happens with Pacquiao? Ortiz vs Pac next?

I'm not writing Ortiz off, call him whatever you want but at the end of the day he has great tools to work with. He can box, he has good speed, good power, and his counter punching is good. His defense could use some work but overall its not that bad.

Floyd last two fights you could tell some of his footwork isn't there, now even worst as he's had a long layoff.

      Point of the thread.

What do you think happens to Floyd if he gets defeated by Ortiz? Pac fight will never happen? He retires for good? Fights bums and gets KO cause he'll obviously wake up shot?
      Most likely a rematch...

Now after that, I would think a loss for Floyd would be good for him (from a fans stand point).

I think he would be more dedicated to the sport for the next 3 or 4 years (before he call it quits). Like I said, from a fans stand point, that would be great. We would be able to see Floyd showcase his skills more often, not this every other year crap. To date, that is thew only thing that really pisses me off about the dude.

That is what I would think comes next for Floyd ( if he was to lose). A rematch, then a dragon that is now awake! At least I hope that's what would happen.

Well if Floyd loses that's a BIG BLOW to the supposed Superfight, the fight between Manny vs Floyd would never be the same. Sure they could still have it, but that's what so exciting about it, both are riding a career high of one not losing and one that hasn't lost in a years.

You never really know though, Floyd might lose, but you gotta give it to him, he fought Shane was Shane still had a chance at pulling the trigger, and now he fights Ortiz who can possibly beat him.

When was the last time Pacquiao fought anyone with the slightest advantage? Even Margarito's advantage, was actually a disadvantage because of him already being slow.

        Anyways, I think Floyd retires.

If Floyd loses and Ortiz moves on to face Pac, the floydboyz will come out with how Ortiz was softened up by Floyd and is Maidana's leftovers. Lol

To the contrary Floyd takes no one lightly except Gotti, that's why he is known to train like a beast. And to answer the question Ortiz win he will become the new Oscar. A Mexican American fighter who appeals to the ladies.

No one is unbeatable. Ortiz might be the guy beating Floyd for the 1st time , maybe not. Who knows...

If he loses, he will have an immediate rematch and then fight Pacquiao. No other option, if he wanted to keep status as one of the best of his generation.
