Carl has already surpassed Calzaghe simply by taking on the better challengers. Frank knows Hopkins beat Joe and that is why he is on Hopkins nuts so hard right now.

And why the hell is Frank having a go at Barry for stating is opinion? I am not Barry's biggest fan because when he was out of the loop with Sky he was highly critical of virtually every elite British fighter. But everyman has their opinion and Frank needs to show a lot more class and respect to Barry.

I think you should watch the hopkins calzaghe fight again just because joe was on his arse one round doesnt mean he lost his output was far superior to hopkins his success rate, every thing was better that night and calzaghe won and is still undefeated living nicely in retirement, warren took calzaghe to court for a couple of million so nut hugging him isn't exactly a thing he's going to do to someone he doesn't like youve just got to appretiate he was the best of his era and if he was fighting now would beat any of the super middles with ease he holds all the pysical advantages and output alone would destroy the new super middles even froch and im a massive froch fan would get owned off calzaghe..

Warren's just pissy, because he knows none of his fighters could ever blaze the trail Carl has. Frank would be too scared and careful to let them take flagrant risks. That's how he does business, it is what it is, but it appears to be a cause of frustration for dark-hearted Frank to see a fighter from another stable take those risks and succeed and prove himself doing it - so Frank has to diminish it in some way, like the nasty little toad he is.

WOW - I cant believe someone could say Froch has surpassed Calzaghe. Some people are just all about the flavor of the month.
First off Calzaghe beat Kessler, convincingly, when he was an undefeated unified titlist. Froch lost to Kessler, in a close fight, but it was a legit loss, when Kessler had just got schooled by Ward.
Calzaghe beat Hopkins - he won that fight legitimately. And that win looks better and better considering Hopkins has since schooled Pavlik and beat Pascal.
Plus Calzaghe made 20 DEFENSES of his WBO supermiddleweight title. and would have been one of a few to have had all 4 titles (WBC, WBA, WBO & IBF) if he hadnt been wrongly stipped b/f his Kessler fight. He beat Bika convincingly, and destroyed Lacy when Lacy was at his absolute best.
Froch is a good fighter, but he was lucky to get the decision vs. Dirrell, I actually had Dirrell winnin 8 of 12, but the judges gave the nod to Froch b/c Dirrell ran too much. Froch was losin the fight to Taylor through 11 rounds, and beat a limited Abraham who's proven to be a mediocre fighter at best.
There is no comparison - Calzaghe is a HOF fighter; at this point, Froch is a good fighter with limitations. I'll be absolutely shocked if Ward beats him, and I'm bettin the ranch on Ward

i had froch vs kessler 115-113 in favor of froch, cause kessler was hurt more than once, and kessler was missing alot and the judges gave him the close rounds.,nobody is mad because kessler won, but froch is better than him.

I once favored Kessler to win that fight, but Carl has shown more and more nuances in almost every fight and exceeded my expectations of him, even as a fan - and I love it.

As far as the Calzaghe Hopkins fight is concerned. The first four rounds Hopkins was frustrating Joe and the after the fourth Joe took control and won easy. The fight should not have been scored a split decision because Joe frustrated and outclassed Hopkins. I even believe Joe may have hurt Bernard and caused him to fake a couple of low blows.

As for the Kessler Froch fight. Kessler was having all kinds of legal problems and was fighting some rather lame fighters and than got his a$$ handed to him by Ward. With all that going on Kessler was still able to beat Froch and I don't believe it was as close as most of you all do. Froch also, in my opinion, lost to Dirrel in one of the worst decisions I have seen in recent times. And believe me I am in no way a Dirrel fan. He beat Pasacal who really is not that great of a fighter and beat Abraham, who also is not very good, and for what ever reason showed up and did absolutely nothing. And although the fight became closer in the final rounds Froch still needed to knock out a washed up Taylor to win. Than Froch beats a 42 year way past his prime Johnson who had not made the weight in how many years? Don't get me wrong I like Johnson but again he really is not that great of a fighter and is really only a name because of one fight. So in my opinion it is way premature to say that Froch is great and I honestly believe that Ward will school him and win easy.

Froch would beat Calzaghe, those pitty pat punches would have had no effect on Froch and Froch can actually fight for a full 12 round at a good pace unlike Hopkins who gassed. No way Calzaghe would do them pitty pat flurries on Froch without taking some big shots back.

Froch has got to revert back to old against ward because ward is the better all around fighter.

Ward won't be able to hold froch every round of the fight like he did kessler, froch is just to big and has to much strength for that tactic, he will outbox froch thats a given but will he be able to handle the non stop pressure of froch because to hold froch off you need alot of power which ward doesn't have if ward try's the new american fighters tactic of headbutting an oppenent froch will go dirty back with a vengance wards biggest assey is his ability to be dirty but froch is immune to that on all accounts and is better at it then ward ward will go ammature style dirrel on froch simple as that ...
