I didn't get to see the segment, but I am interested after reading your post. First off, in regards to Schaap, he does a lot of narrating. Shcaap has become ESPN's Morgan Freeman, I wouldn't take anything from that.

As for Tyson and bashing him, we all know Atlas is a pos. Honestly, it's no surprise there, but I can't complain too much if during the Shcaap segment that they bashed Mike a bit. Look, it's a great honor that Tyson is making the hall and rightfully so, but part of Tyson's legacy is his brutal past and his behavior.

You can't just sugar coat those kind of things because he is getting inducted, you just can't, it defined him as a person and his fighting spirit. As we close the book on Tysons career we have to accept the good with the bad.

Yeah, I know Schaap dose a great deal of narrating and alot of times I dont mind but this time it annoyed me so much for some reason. It felt like he wrote it......lol (seriously though, I woulndnt be shocked if he did)

With the last part of what you were talking about, I totally agree. You have to throw all of that in but I felt like most of the bashing was him as a boxer and they were calling him a clown outside the ring.

I just felt it was uncalled for at that time. They made it seem like he just ****** even as a fighter. Again, some think he's overrated but it just seemed totally disrespectful on this day

The segment was pretty brutal I was thinking that also. I thought if you are going to rip him like they did tell the whole story there was no mention of Robin Givens or how Don King used a naive young Tyson up. Idk it was pretty harsh. You would think Atlas would have some mention in it aswell.

Yeah I thought this too while watching it. I dont care about them mentioning all the bad stuff he did because sure, it's necessary. But saying something to the effect that based on fame he deserves but based on actual accomplishments that might not be the case? Come on, even if he didnt live up to his potential there will NEVER be another Mike Tyson, and without any doubt the man belongs in the hall. Plus, they didnt mention the whole story. Mentioning the bad is necessary, but what about the good? What about how he's turned his life around? How he's refocused? In their interview with him he was so passive, humbled, and gracious, yet it seemed totally out of context because they never introduced the new Mike Tyson. I didn't like it one bit

What also made me mad is that jeremy schaap is never ever on the show, is annoying, and probably knows very little about boxing but they had him narrate the segment and to me I honestly thought they let him write that segment.

You could tell he seemed like some stuckup clown that was disgusted by Tyson. I just dont get how this is a boxing show, trying to make the sport bigger, its HOF weeked, and you got one of the biggest names ever making it to the HOF, and they do a segment on him that is all negative. Why?

I couldnt even stomach that shish. I thought they may let Atlas talk and he would maybe say something bad about him but this was even worst. Atlas couldnt have went that hard on him in his best day. I just didnt get why they felt the need to do that.

You could say they were being unbiased and telling the whole story but they werent. It was pretty much all negative and you dont do that to a Hall Of Famer on this day

The piece showed discussed how in big fights like lennox lewis and holyfield he lost. I remeber on espn fist take the same argument came up when teddy atlas was on there abouttyson being one of the greatest heavyweights.

I said it before, I'll say it again. Teddy Atlas is a low life piece of ***** who HATES on anyone who is sucesfull. He is a psycopath killer who has ALWAYS been a huge loser at anything he has ever done

                1) Failed as an amateur boxing, losing most of his fights

                2) Failed as assistant trainer, getting fired and spared of JAIL because 'Cus told cops not to prosecute him. Dude putting guns into peoples faces and domestic violance cases. (Put a gun to a 17 year old Mike Tysons ear)

                3) Failed as a Head Coach, his only talent Moorer was given to him by the Gym as a present and he rode the talent, all his other boxers? He ruined all of their careers.

                4) Atlas confessed in his book that at one point he was so angry at Donny LaLonde he went to his home with a gun and a friend, to kill LaLonde for firing him as manager.

                5) He drew criticism for what some considered to be overly dramatic speeches in the ring corner, particularly during Moorer's Heavyweight title fight with Evander Holyfield, and some felt he did these antics to draw attention to himself rather than help his fighter, during one such speech Atlas blocked Moorer from sitting on his stool and asked "Do you want me to take over?

                6) On January 25, 2008, Atlas was suspended by ESPN twice, once for threatening a crew member and once (for one week) after confronting the network's boxing program director, Doug Loughrey.

                7) Theres a story in NY, Atlas went into some gym and said "Its my fighters turn to spar/use ring by himself, they told him no its not. So what does he do? Comes back with a ******* and threatens everyone

                8) His whole family is homicidal loony-tunes like him: His brother Tommy shot his grandmother in 1978, causing a disturbance in the Atlas family’s life. Thomas Atlas is an inmate at NYS Prison at Marcy, N.Y.

                9) He was also arrested after beating his sister Meridith. By his own admission, Atlas had a somewhat troubled, rebellious youth. He dropped out of school and was arrested several times, once serving time on Riker’s Island.

This guy is a LOSER who jerks off to the golden age of boxing and hot young black americans, he completely RUINS careers and is a complete crazy goof who will one day commit a murder/homicide (mightve killed his grandmother but his brother took the rap for all we know)

He hates on everyone that has sucess because he knows deep inside he's a huge loser who does shows at Indian Reservations on ESPN 2 on Friday Nights and has no fighters while all his competition who he grew up with are now world class trainers/fighters/coaches and he is still stuck in some dirt watching 11-0 fighters KO'ing 10-40 fighters on Fridays.

You ever notice Dan Rafael (ESPN's only REAL Boxing Analyst) never mentions Atlas? He knows he's a huge loser with big emotional problems.

My Guess at why he's like this? He has a SMALL DIICK.
