Will Ward vs Froch be for The Ring and Lineal titles?

Will the winner be The Ring champion at 168? I see the winner being the Lineal champion, since Calzaghe is retired.

If so, then this fight will be for the WBC/WBA/The Ring/Lineal titles.

    Does any one disagree?

    They are #1 and #2 at 168.

    #2
I thought Bute was at #2, but I haven't seen the rankings since the Froch fight. Either way I think it should be for the Ring title.

Ward and Froch are #1 and #2 according to the Ring, so I can't imagine it wouldn't be for the Ring title.

It definitely should be. It be a ****in crime to think otherwise. They are the 2 best fighters in the world, PERIOD. Bute ain't done ***** to make anybody believe he should be #1 or 2. He needs to fight Kessler, Johnson, Abraham, or Green before he even could even start to build a case.

It doesnt matter if Bute is above Froch, if the #1 and the #3 fight and it is vacant, then it is for the lineal title.

In other words, yes, Froch-Ward is for the lineal title.

Joe Calzaghe was the last Lineal Champ at 168, he's retired so it's vacant now.

              And to those wondering:

Ward is #1, Froch is #2.

This will be a great fight for the WBC/WBA/The Ring/Lineal titles on the line. Wow when was the last time we had such a legit fight with so many major titles on the line?

I believe (could be remembering wrong though) that when the Super Six was finalized, the Ring agreed ahead of time that the finals would be for the Ring belt.

That's really cool. Fingers crossed to see the Super 6 winner facing the winner of Kssler-Bute for all, and I mean ALL, the belts.

168 has the potential of being the only weight class with just one absolute champion in 2012. Let's hope all of this happens. The only thing that can kind of mess this up is the winner of Dawson-Hopkins crashing the party,
