I don't see why Pacquiao fans are pulling for Mayweather to lose and Mayweather fans for Pacquiao to lose. You realize the best case scenario is the Mega fight right? If you want your favorite fighter's greatness to be fully proven, than the bigger better fight should be what you want. I don't see how it makes sense to pull for a hiccup so your road to greatness is slightly easier. To be great, these guys need great adversaries. And Pacquiao and Mayweather fill those roles perfectly for one another.

Okay, so with your post and including myself. NSB has a whopping 4 fans that can appreciate both. Nice!

          Visit the hall of fame.

          Support the local fighters.

With that said Marquez has shown to be completly ineffective above 135. Thats nothing to get excited about.
so having one fight above that weight and losing to a much bigger FLOYD MAYWEATHER (not some joe schmo) means you are completely ineffective at the weight?
i dont think the weight is ideal either but one fight isnt the be all end all

Like I said, give him an A for effort.

I won't get into the details of why your statement is not 100%. However I will say, you're going to watch the fight right? So whether or not you admit it to yourself, you're looking forward to the fight.

Furthermore, my post is more directly addressing posters who feel the need to relentlessly bash one or the other. And as clearly stated in the first post, both fights can be dissected and disparaged. Both matchups will bring attention to boxing and have the potential to produce fireworks. Boxing fans need to man up and stop hating.

The original question is really not worth addressing for anyone who doesn't realize styles make fights and that Pacquiao does not fight like Mayweather does.

Well said. What I don't appreciate is that I'll have to pay to see them.

When it comes to *****s and *******s, no single side is more intelligent or correct than the other. It's possible to be fans of these fighters without unwavering negativity towards the opposition.

Everyone should be excited that two of the most popular boxers in the world have solid matchups scheduled. It's good for boxing, and can only help to build up Pacquiao and Mayweather's potential clash down the line. Not every press release should be viewed as ammunition to tear down Mayweather or Pacquiao.

Either you appreciate the sport of boxing, or you're a fighter's fan boy. Unfortunately, NSB seems to have more fanboys recently than anything else. Is there anyone else planning to purchase and looking forward to both? One a defensive master and the other an offensive specialist. Leave a comment if you are a real boxing and respect both of this generation's very best fighters!
Drew people would be more hyped about Manny JMM III if it were at 140. JMM has not shown he can handle 147. It is still a fight fans should watch. But I think the match is far more compelling at 140.
