Ortiz is in a Win/Win situation

First of all, i want to give my respect to this kid, he won the title and he has accepted to have his first defence against mayweather.

I think this fight can only increase Ortiz reputation coming off his heart stopping performance against berto. If he gives the same type of performance and loses to mayweather (which i think will happen), he will still be viewed as a competitive young fighter who justifies his star quality. So overall its a good fight for the kid, there is no way it will hurt his future, it will only blossom further after this. Win or lose, Ortiz will gain allot from this.

Heres another take - Mayweather beats him up badly and makes it so one sided Victor who is mentally weak or at least questionably so, never recovers and is a broken fighter, his star appeal in tatters (he has superstar written all over him) and his confidence gone...

OR he puts Mayweather to sleep (VERY UNLIKELY!) and his career goes into stratosphere!

It's a win situation for Ortiz because he can't lose. Mayweather has never face someone like Ortiz; young, hungry, fast, powerful, explosive, and with a twelve round gas tank. Victor Ortiz is just gonna destroy Gayweather and become boxing next super star.

At least Ortiz knows that Pacquiao is no doubt going to fight him after Mayweather.

There will be an upset Victor is not an old shop worn Mosley or Delahoya. He's also not a little 5 foot'4 inch over hype Hatton or a 37 year old lightwieght Marquez who can't handle the wieght of 147

If Ortiz gets KTFO, or if he quits, or if he gets completely dominated in a one-sided beat down, his stock will drop.
