Kirkland has got to be one of the biggest disappointments in boxing, all that hype for nothing. I hope he can come back and prove to be more than just talk.

Sitting in a cell for 2 years did not do him any good. On top of that I don't think things were clicking with his new trainer and in hindsight they moved him too fast. Like Wolfe said after he lost, if it were her training him she would have whooped his ass into shape and she thought it was absurd they were making him fight when he was still trying to lose a lot of weight. I think she's right about that. He should have got in tip top shape first THEN fight.

good to see kirkland back in the gym after that devastating loss. i was afraid that i was gonna hear news about him getting into trouble after the loss. hopefully he really proves himself, no date or opponents have been named? i don't remember reading anything about a signed fight....

Nothing yet. Wolfe had said she wanted a few months to work him into a shape. I think that's the smart thing, considering everything.

There was talk however of an Ishida rematch, I'm not sure what's up with that.

good for them. a rematch would be good, but i'm not sure if it should happen right away, perhaps 2012.

I wouldn't mind seeing it on the floyd-ortiz undercard if they are crazy enough.

I like Ann Wolfe with Kirkland, as a trainer I think she is very good at motivation and I do like her belief that training should be so tough that the fight is easy.

I do also like the fact that in a corner there is generally a lot of talking and if all those voices are male it can be tough to pick out, but Wolfe being female it would be much easier to pick out her voice out thus making it easier to follow her instructions.

I still think she needs to develop from a tactical point of view and could benefit greatly from working with another trainer but either way she will develop that over time, this would just greatly speed up the process.
