I say take Chavez before he gets any better & get an opportunity to get a belt in another weight class. Let Margarito heal properly, so that there aren't any excuses on either side.

Julio Chaves Jr Who?
What right does this chump have to fight a 3 time world champion in 3 weight classes? This dude hasn't fought anyone! The only name I know on his record is John Duddy! What can this dude bring to the table as far as excitement for a PPV fight? I hope Cotto gets in with him and KO's his ass and then gives Margo the proper time to heal and then avenge his loss. Then bring on either Pacman or Mayweather Jr. COTTO COTTO COTTO!!Comment

This is a no brainer. Chavez is a cash cow and easy work for Cotto. But Arum is a snake and I am sure that he realizes that Margo's next fight might be his last so I am sure he'll make it worth more for Cotto to fight Margo. Cotto is the only compelling opponent for margo thus Arum can squeeze as much outta Margo as he can before he fades into the sunset. With Jr he can still fool the masses into thinking he is a real champ....why risk giving his cash cow an L by putting him infront of Cotto? When he can put another stiff in front of him before Martinez or Sturm eat his lunch.
Cotto needs to accept the Chavez offer. It'll be another worthless belt but it'll be his 4th different division belt....no PR fighter can say that, not even Tito. If it pans out how I think it will it'll be simply a tune up for margarito further down the road. Margarito has nobody else to dance with that'll make him any real bank....he'll wait. Unless he wants Kirkland, Angulo, or Martinez II and not make any money he can sit and wait for Cotto.Comment

COTTO WILL MAKE THE DECISION BASED ON THE FINANCIAL NUMBERS, meaning that he picked Mayorga instead of actually fighting someone with a pulse at 154. All these tune ups after tune ups are based on Cotto's decision. Apart from 147, dude hasn't really done jack if you look at it.Comment

chavez jr. is a frikkin piece of trash..................................arum is a scum bag and will go to the extreme to find his new cash cow a way to fight worn out fighters. why not test him with a real challenge? i want to see him fight sergio martinez, or even alvarez just to see him lose.Comment

instead of all them jokers need to man up and fight sergio martinez, why dont martinez man up and fight a super middleweight? i mean its obvious martinez will more than likely beat chavez...and as far as cotto/martinez, they are one division apart...instead of having cotto move up one division, or pac or mayweather move up one or two division to fight martinez, why dont MARAVIAGRA move up one division himself to super middleweight weight and fight the likes of ward and froch, lets see MARAVIAGRA grow some bahllz...beat both ward and froch, and he is my P4P king....isnt that what martinez wants? to be P4P king? both pac and mayweather already moved up atleast 5 division in their career...how many division did MARAVIAGRA move up? two divisiion? that aint P4P king material yet...if martinez can move up and dominate the loaded super middleweight division , i will give him P4P king statusLast edited by indystress; 06-07-2011, 09:33 AM.Comment

Arum is a true @$$%^^&&..... I'm getting tire of his bull****. His so full of sh*it for not putting his fighters to fight other fighters from different companies and promoters and Lou Bella is right about Arum. He's an old a$$ punk. See, when Sergio Martinez called out Pacquiao and Mayweather everyone was saying that Martinez should pick on someone his own size, but now that he's calling out Chavez "the new champ/chump" now Martinez (36) is picking on a rookie; I sure don't understand, Chavez is 25-years-old and he's 6'1 with 40 plus fights and people are calling him a rookie, how many years does he need to fight real fighters. Its OK for Saul Alvarez (20) to want to fight Pacquiao (32) and its OK for Hopkins (46) and Pascal (28) to fight twice. Common, Sebastian Zbik was not a threat and look how Chavez face looked at the end of the fight with a real threat the cash cow for Arum will go to hell. Boxing really need a new structure.Comment
