  • Comments Thread For: Hopkins vs Froch Showdown on The Cards, Says Hearn

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is heading straight to an autumn unification with WBA champ Andre Ward in the final bout of the Super Six Boxing Classic. If Froch defeats Ward, the Nottingham boxer's promoter, Eddie Hearn, would like to get him a few huge fights - including a showdown with WBC 175-pound champion Bernard Hopkins. Hearn would like to turn Hopkins-Froch into a major Nottingham event, but doesn't rule out the possibility of the contest going to a venue in Las Vegas.

Wow, if Froch did fight Hopkins after Ward (and his other fights in the Super Six) he would have a very impressive resume.

IF (and it's a BIG IF both ways...love this fight) he gets by Ward, Froch running off another 2-3 big fights in a row would be no shock. Ward is 7. Whoa.

You're right, it is stellar. At the time of the Pascal fight I really didn't like him but he's grown on me and his record is very hard to beat. He has put his money where his mouth is and while a lot of fighters talk of fighting the best he delivers.

Exactly, man. Froch was derided on this forum right only a couple of years ago - and now everyone is rightfully giving him his dues. It's just a killer run - Pascal/Taylor/Dirrell/Kessler/AA/Johnson/Ward. I mean, just think how mentally exhausting it must be to go on that kind of run, before you even think about how physically taxing it has been.

To me, it's also a testament to the brilliance of the Super Six tournament too. Sure, it has nearly fallen apart but it's made stars of those who had it in them, and exposed those who didn't.

ward will beat froch in an extremely close and controversial (alot of fouling also) match.

It would be a very easy fight for Hopkins.

A lot easier than the fights against Jean Pascal. Speed is what give Hopkins trouble and Froch doesn't have any speed. Anyway, Ward will take care of Froch before Hopkins has the chance.
