I had Froch winning by a couple of rounds, but I thought he took some heavy shots and I did start to wonder between rounds 5 - 8 if he was going to see the end bell, but his granite chin is something to behold!

Ward has the ability to give Froch an absoloute boxing lesson skill wise, but one thing Ward can be absoloutely sure of; Froch is not easy to knock out and more so when you are not a hard hitter like Ward, and Froch is going to come to fight

Ward could realistically slaughter Froch if he boxes him, but if he fights him it will be a really interesting.

no, glen does not have any left in him thats the point.

when have you ever seen glen johnson taking rounds off?

      or being outworked in activity?

not being up on the opponents chest firing shots ?

i scored it 6 rounds each, glen landed the more clean and harder punches

in his winning rounds and carl threw more punches and was more active a

allthough being blocked a very lot in his winning rounds

Froch beat dirrel by jimmy iowa, dan rafael and most other top pundits eyes, even the press row and box rec punch stas scored it to froch. So thats a lie.

As for the taylor fight, froch was on a split decision going into the final rounds and won the last 3 rounds, the last round was a 10-7 round even if froch didnt knock taylor out. Lst gasp???from was severely crippling taylor in the last round.

As for kessler fight, i and alot of people scored that for froch, again even the danish press row thought froch won.

Please dont make things up you dumb ****...

no his post is correct in every way, a shot ruined taylor boxed froches ears

        off until getting knocked out...

        dirrel beat froch as well.

and kessler beat froch convincingly winning many more rounds than carl

i had this fight 6 rounds a piece with froch winning 4,5,9,10,11,12

thats 6 each, equaling a draw...

also, dan rafael ARE YOU KIDDING

the guy knows nothing of the sport, NOTHING

the only fight rafael has ever been in is an argument with his boyfriend

Upon rewatching the fight, I was surprised myself at the score I came up with. My impression of the fight was that there was no way I could come up with something higher than 115-113 for Froch, but scoring it round by round, I realized that Froch didn't allow Johnson to win the close rounds and made sure he was coming right back at Johnson when it was needed.

          1. Froch not throwing power punches, and he has trouble landing his jab. Glen not landing that much himself, but he gets the better quality shots in. Glen 10-9
          2. Close round, Froch starts to open a little bit more with power shots, but he has trouble landing his stuff. Meanwhile, Glen gets in some nice punches to the body, and he blocks most of the incoming. Glen 10-9
          3. Somewhat close round, Froch gets in some nice hooks to the body, but Glen is more effective with his jab and he blocks Froch punches aimed at his head. Glen stuns Froch with a big right hand to the head and continues to work the body. Glen also counters a flying uppercutt by Frcoh with a perfect left hook to the jaw. Glen 10-9
          4. Glen wins the battle of the jabs early on, but he isn't committed to throwing power shots. Froch lands some good counter shots, is more busy and wins the round. Froch 10-9
          5. They both get good shots in, but Froch takes the round based on combos and ring generalship. Froch 10-9
          6. Froch makes sure he is ahead during the course of the round. He gets off nice combos and lands here and there. He outworks Glen. Froch 10-9
          7. Glen is back in the fight and lands some hard head and body shots, but it is more of the same in the end as Froch makes sure to cancel Glen's good work by throwing combos and outworking him. Froch 10-9
8.They start off fighting hard, both of them, but Glen hurts Froch and gets in some monstrous punches to the head and body, quality stuff. He brutalizes Froch quite a bit. Glen 10-9

After 8 rounds, notice I have it a draw.

          9. Glen back with the jab at the beginning. He lands quality shots to the body and head. Froch is a bit passive. Froch comes back in the second half of the round. Froch doesn't land much, but he fights back enough in combos to secure the round. Froch 10-9
          10. They both land quality shots, but Glen looks tired, and Froch outworks him. Froch 10-9
          11. More of the same. Froch picks his shots, lands nice left hooks to the head, and outworks Glen who gets some good shots in, but far from enough. Froch 10-9
          12. Slow pace round. Froch is in total control of the action. Froch 10-9

My final score = 116-112 Carl Froch

Random thoughts : I liked Froch body attack. He regualrly landed nice stuff downstairs, and he made sure he was almost always one step ahead of Johnson to secure the rounds. Froch seems like he's getting better and better, and he always finds a way to surprise. Froch has proven his worth in the tournament.

I believe we will have a close and competitive final, much more so then people predict here.

Taylor did give Froch problems but it was still a competitive fight.

Against Kessler, Froch didn't do enough work. But again, good competitive fight.

Well done to froch for beating johnson, was a slow start from froch but i believe this was all part of the game plan, to let johnson waer himself down and start to throw the bigger punches and combos which as the fight went starting to discourage johnson. id say the 116-112 was the more accurate score.

and in regards to the final, it will be a great matchup, i feel to win froch must start faster and as the aggresor to give himself a good chance of winning, but it wont be easy ward looks very good and will cause froch problems all night, hopefully as a froch fan this will bring out the best in froch.

Froch looked tired in the rounds and thats rare for him and to me he just seemed in pain and not completly with it. Even between rounds he didnt look with it.
Froch definitely looked a bit off in the opening rounds and kept shaking his legs out, maybe calf cramps? Nerves? He looked pretty uncomfortable in places at any rate, and it wasn't just down to Glen's pressure.

Man Froch has been winning me over after the Dirrell fight. The guy is a beast. Even when Glen Johnson caught him with some clean hard punches, Froch made sure to come right back and answered with a series of combinations that neutralized everything Johnson did. He did this all night long...and what a granite chin!
                      116-112, better of the scores.
