Comments Thread For: Kessler vs Stieglitz is The Next Fight Coming For Mikkel?

While it's long been rumored that Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KOs) is being lined up for a fight with IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute of Canada, recent reports are suggesting that WBO champion Robert Stieglitz (40-2, 23 KOs) is the more probable opponent for the Danish star. The fight with Stieglitz could take place in the fall. Kessler is returning on Saturday night in Copenhagen against Frenchman Mehdi Bouadla (22-3, 10 KOs). Bouadla is Kessler's first fight since withdrawing from the Super Six tournament with an eye injury. Kessler was last seen in the ring in April 2010, winning a tough twelve round decision over Carl Froch.

Bute is never going to fight a good opponent is he?

It is so unfair that he could face the winner of the super 6 straight of the bat.

Unfair? Because Kessler runs away from him? Wow, what a genius you are.

¿Never going to fight a good opponent?...Bute's last 8 fights have been all for a world title(IBF) & he's won 7 by KO & 1 UD..Among those he's fought are very good fighters like Edison Miranda, Sakio Bika & Librado Andrade(who he fought twice & has been the ONLY fighter(so far) to KO Andrade, that's something that Kessler couldn't do) & his next fight is against the #1 contender Jean Paul Mendy who's also undefeated.. ¿& unfair that he could face the winner of the super 6 straight of the bat? The winner of the Super Six will end up with 2(WBA & WBC) of the 4 major titles at 168lbs & the other 2 champs are Stieglitz(WBO) & Bute(IBF)..So out of Stieglitz & Bute, Being that Bute is undefeated & is the better known fighter & beat Andrade twice(Andrade KO'd Stieglitz before Stieglitz won the title) is the one that deserves & has earned the shot at the winner of the Super Six tournament & chance to unify the titles..& besides all that, Bute is a good fighter with good skills..

I hope that Kessler meets Bute and the winner of the fight will meet the winner of super 6

Yeah, this is a disappointing turn of events.

Stieglitz vs. Kessler is a good matchup. But there goes any chance of Bute fighting a live body.

Kessler's goal is to be undisputed, so a Stieglitz fight is a must. So the road could be Stieglitz - Bute - S6 winner - retirement.

Meanwhile Bute is again left to look in the Who's who of cabdrivers and garbagemen to find his next opponent.

                    Did I blame Bute?

                    I'm stating my disappointment.
