Comments Thread For: Robert Guerrero Talks Ortiz, Pacquiao, Marquez, More

Former two division champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (29-1-1, 18KOs) is scheduled to return on August 6, with HBO televising the fight. Guerrero missed out on a potential fight with WBA 140-pound Amir Khan, when the British star finalized a deal to face IBF champion Zab Judah on July 23. As the reigning WBA/WBO interim-lightweight champion, Guerrero is the mandatory challenger to full champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who plans to take a fight at 140-pounds in July, and then he'll march forward to a November showdown with Manny Pacquiao. Guerrero sat down with BoxingScene.com Marquez, Pacquiao, Victor Ortiz and more.

i'd like to see him fight rios too, but he never seems to call him out. obviously he wants the bigger fights but a fight between him and rios would be great

I would like to see him in a big fight also , he deserves it . He really impressed me in his last fight , seems to be really developing his skills . I really admire him for sticking by his wife . Could he beat Pac , not so sure he could handle the pressure and the power .

I would love to see Marquez v. Guerrero, but that isnt happening any time soon. If Marquez loses to Pac, though, he may come back down to 135 as he did after the Mayweather fight.
If I was Guerrero, thats the fight I would want. He would get more exposure for a win over Marquez than he would over Rios, even though fighting Rios could be just as tough a fight.
Also, although I know the alphabet titles aren't what they were, If I was Guerrero, I'd want to win a legit 135 title (as opposed to just an interim one) before fully movin up to 140, then 147. He has already won titles at 126 and 130. Guerrero could aim to become one of the very few fighters to win titles in 5 weight classes if he was able to win titles at 135, 140 and 147. It is a ways off, but seems to be a possibility considering the way he's moving up in weight and carrying the weight well.
To add his name to the list with Pac, de la Hoya, Mayweather, and Leonard is something I would think any fighter would want to do

              OMG u LOL

Manny is really running out of opponents. They want him to fight a tank
(Timothy Bradley), a dog (Bernard Hopkins) and now a ghost (Robert Guerreoro).

In November he will be facing a ballerina (Juan who?).

Guerrero vs anyone is a great fight. The Ghost is one fighter that I think can become the next superstar in boxing. Good skills, great story.....its there!
