Tune up or no tune up jmm is getting that ass violated. The only chane he had was to convince pac to drain himself and maybe he would have had an outside shot. But 144 is gonna be an easy weight for pac. My guess is pac comes in at 144 and rehydrates to 148 on fight night. Even if jmm chooses to stick with his comfort zone and weigh in at 136 or 137 and then rehydrate to 145 on fight night, he s still gonna get spanked. If pac is 100% and jmm is 100%, pac is gonna eat him up like a little taco snack.

That's the problem I have with this fight. If u need one guy to drain himself just to make the fight competitive, well maybe u shouldn't have that fight at all

Using ur "logic" if we can call it that, michael jordan had to be on roids cause he jumped so high. Babe Ruth had to be roiding up too, I mean who goes from all star pitcher to home run hitter? He HAD to be on peds, right?

They have a word for that form of logic, its called "******ity".

If pee breath Marquez was serious about trying to beat Pacquiao, he wouldve paid Diaz and got the extras good work he'd need to be sharp for Manny. Now he'll fight a bum or no one at all, and just cash out in a non-competitive blow out againt Pac. No way I'll pay for Pac-JMM now. Hallelujah for internet streams! Pac KO4 Marquez. Bet your crappy house and barely running car on it.

it's easier for diaz to say that now that he's not getting the money he wants from a marquez fight. which i don't think 300k or even 250k is bad for diaz, i think it's worth it to pay him that, i don't think that is too unrealistic of a demand by diaz for their fight because has to train, pay bills, pay his team, and get beaten up and suffer another loss, thats worth it, they should pay him unless they can get him to take less...?

how come, NOBODY, gives any credence to timing and precision punching in boxing??? two elements that trump and can easily defeat speed and power.!!!

marquez is the epitome of a boxer with superior timing and precision punching, and one of the best counter punchers and combination punchers in the sport!!!

im not saying he easily beats pacquiao but people aren't looking into the physics of fighting and how history has proven this time and time again..... not every time, but enough to make the case that timing and precision punching can and does beat speed and power in a fight......

it's not something that is dominant and a complete shutout but it's something that makes the fight close, interesting, and gives the slower and not as strong fighter a level playing field.........

marquez has a way better chance than people are leading on...........

Marquez will not be KO'd in 4.

Yeah, father time will play a role in III. Yeah, the weight will play a role in III. And even with all that, JMM still has the smarts, accuracy and style to prevent a straight onslaught from Manny. JMM knows Manny better than anybody in that ring. He's given Manny 24 of his toughest 36 rounds (12 Morales). He has not demonstrated a deterioration of skills anywhere near Mosley. And while the weight is not optimum for JMM, the "styles make fights" adage still applies perfectly when it comes to Manny and JMM at any weight.

Considering everything I do however expect Manny to begin to connect on JMM more than ever after the 8th-10th especially when JMM realizes he's behind on the cards and has to open up. Clear UD or a corner stoppage.

                  scared of Diaz? LOL!!

didn't diaz get beat by Pacquiao and Soto?
It's amazing that what goes around comes around. The person who said Diaz overpriced himself was guilty of the same offense.

                  Juan Marquez Blew It

                  By: James Blears

WBA and IBF Featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez was first choice to fight Filipino sensation for a second helping of the thrilla, but Marquez blew it, over money demands.

That was the clear message of Top Rank President Todd DuBoef, who was in Mexico City for the presser between Manny and Erik Morales.

Todd put it this way: “Obviously, the fight we wanted to make was Marquez and Pacquiao. The money on the table was from HBO. Juan Manuel thinks the value should have been much higher. It wasn’t what he wanted. There’s nothing we could have done. We tried going to HBO to get more money. They wouldn’t do it, and so now the prospect for Juan Manuel Marquez is to see what happens in this fight, keep him active, and when our contract’s up, if he wants to go somewhere, then that’s his choice.

“We are going to have discussions with him, about what he wants to do. But more than anything, I think he’s a little disappointed that he passed on a fight that he shouldn’t have passed on.

“Our number one goal was to make Marquez V Pacquiao, and three quarters of a million dollars is a lot of money.”

Todd was also quick to mention the Tartan Menace WBO Featherweight Champion Scott Harrison and the possibility of him fighting Pacquiao, Marquez or Morales. Todd enthused:
“I would love to do it. Frank Maloney was actually in Las Vegas for the Morales V Barrera fight with Scott Harrison. That might be the next move for Juan Manuel Marquez.

“Scott Harrison is an awkward fighter. He’s got long arms, and he’s a very good and very strong fighter. And I think he should be in the mix with all the big featherweights.”

But Todd also cautioned that the lure of Las Vegas, and certainly the USA is where Harrison’s future glory lies. He commented:

“If you want to play in the big leagues and you want to be a world recognized fighter, you’ve got to travel. Where ever it is with the big forum.”

Promoter Murad Muhammad who was also at the Mexico City event, and was paying Manny 900,000 dollars for the Marquez clash had this to say:

“Marquez has a promoter, and I assume he had to get paid, and I understand that Top Rank had investments in Marquez. However, Marquez is not a bad guy, and I understand why he asked for much more. But it has nothing to do with emotions or what both boxers feel about what they’ve done in the ring. The networks are not in the boxing business. They’re in the rating business. You have to bring ratings, and it just so happened that Marquez V Pacquiao did not bring the HBO ratings. In order to be an HBO commodity, you have to at least hit a six. We did less than a five. But they understand that I will not bring you somebody that won’t escalate and be an asset to you. So HBO gambled with us with Manny Pacquiao, and that was Manny’s date.

“We felt it was necessary to bring Marquez back and we did. But Marquez priced himself out, so Bob Arum and I sat down, and I said let’s go to Erik Morales.

“We called Erik Morales and he said BRING IT ON. We called Manny Pacquiao and he said BRING IT ON.

“I think Marquez is truly a champion. He’s got great heart and great ability, and I think what he needs to do is to bide time and he’ll be back, because we want to fight him.

“I think he owes Top Rank a couple more fights and my suggestion to him was to fulfill his obligations.

“NOW I’M GOING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING NO ONE KNOWS. He came to me and wanted me to take over his career and I said there’s two things I don’t do. In the industry I don’t interfere in anyone’s contract, and in my private life I don’t mess with anyone’s wife. So if you’ve got a contract, live up to the contract.

“I say this to Marquez. The only threat to him is Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao.”

Are you actually starting to understand boxing ?

Why do you think that most hardcore boxing fans think that catchweight fights are a joke? It is absurd to fight for a title at catchweight.

                    It completely defies boxing sensibility.

BTW, you dont know **** about Pac if you think that Manny would be "draining himself" at 140
