Comments Thread For: Ward Says Froch-Johnson 50-50, Bute/Kessler Back Froch

NEW YORK– Carl Froch is the heavy favorite to defeat Glen Johnson Saturday in Atlantic City live on SHOWTIME® (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast), but Super Six World Boxing Classic Finalist Andre Ward believes there’s a decent chance that “The Road Warrior” can upset “The Cobra” to claim the WBC Super Middleweight title and advance to the tournament Final.

agree that it's a 50/50 fight, but a Ward/Froch final would be great.

Froch all the way, he is just the better boxer.

Ward will probably be cheering for Johnson though.

        Yes, it is 50/50
Books have Froch as a HEAVY favorite which I think is absurd.. This is gonna be a fun fight.. Froch for some reason thinks hes gonna turn into Floyd Mayweather and box his ears off.. That AA performance got him gassed. Hes gonna be shocked how fast Glenn closes in. If Froch cant dominate on the outside, hes toast.. Quite frankly I dont think Froch is good enough to outbox Johnson.. Froch is at his best when he stands in front of you and jumps in and throws power shots behind his jab, not skipping around the ring trying to outbox someone..(unless youre a statue like AA)

Actually he will be cheering for Froch, as Froch is the much easier fight

I doubt it. Johnson makes for a much rougher fight for Ward, imo.

I do agree that Froch beats Johnson, though.

                Give over man

Froch has a good jab, the reach advantage, and the speed advantage. Of course he's good enough to outbox him.

It wont be easy, but to say Froch isn't good enough to outbox Johnson is ludicrous.

Are you sur Froch is faster? he isnt exactly a speedster.
Im not saying Froch isnt a good boxer, of course he is. Im just saying styles make fights.. Froch operates with space, his defense is space/range/feints and a long jab.. Johnsons style is pressure and closing in quickly, Froch has never experienced a fighter like Johnson.. Froch also cant fight on the inside and will get mauled on the inside.. Froch isnt a master boxer, nor anywhere near the calibur of a Dawson. Johnson gave Chad everything he could handle. I thought Johnson won the first fight.. What I meant is I dont think Froch is capable of keeping Johnson off of him enough to win a decision.. I dont think he will get any gifts in the US.. Johnson will make Froch fight at a pace he isnt used to. This wont be any kind of chess match, Johnson will make this a grueling slugfest, which I dont think Froch can win either. Bottomline, I think Johnsons relentless pressure, body work and workrate wins him a decision if he doesnt stop Froch.. Just IMO
