    ODLH to fight Mayorga next?

According to Steve Kim over at maxboxing, ODLH has told Vargas that he isn't at the top of the list to be his May 2006 opponent - Mayorga is.

ODLH - Mayorga would be a fun fight, but ODLH - Vargas has that rematch interest and would also be good. Anybody doubt that ODLH would give Vargas a much worse beating this time around? Think - Chavez-Taylor II.

If Vargas can't get his big payday against ODLH, he may as well retire now. He's not totally shot but isn't anywhere near what he once was, and won't be a true contender.

Maybe it's just the usual BS talk to get Vargas more desperate for the fight and take it on terms more favorable to ODLH.

I think oscar is going to fight both and beat them both, But I dont think vargas needs oscar that much because vargas has alot of fans and he also gets paid. all he needs is a creditable opponent.

That is just Oscar talking ****, I doubt he would fight Mayorga instead of Vargas. Much more cash in Vargas.

True, Vargas can make a living fighting bums - but ODLH is a much bigger payday. I can't see any reason for Vargas to be out there now other than to get that one huge payday and retire. Who else can he credibly fight and make ODLH kind of money? Keep in mind that his next big fight will likely be his last because he doesn't have the same skills he once had.

If Oscar fights Mayorga, it makes little to no sense.

Oscar doesn't need Mayorga's belt, because he needs no leverage in any negotiation, everyone knows he's the draw...only Trinidad could argue otherwise.

Speaking of Trinidad, this would be another easy target for Tito fans to accuse Oscar of feasting on Tito's leftovers, and it would be very valid IMO, much more valid than the Vargas case.

I want Oscar to fight Winky and PBF, but I know since he would have a huge disadvantage in both fights in some area (size vs. Winky and speed vs. PBF), he either won't do it or if he does, he'll lose twice next year and that would crush his legacy.

So he's probably looking for highest profile relatively easy fights...but Vargas is higher profile than Mayorga and would be a better win. Maybe he wants Mayorga as a tune up for Vargas in Sept.? Provided Fernando wins a fight or two in the interim against solid competition, of course...

the only thing ODH has going for him is his looks thats the only reason he is an attraction, he is way over rated for someone who only fights 1 time a year if that, he is pathetic and should just stay out of the ring, his legacy will be crushed by picking and choosing opponents to fight for big pay days, sure he can do it because he is already rich but I have more respect for an active fighter who may lose one or two here there being active instead of picking to fight someone you know you will win against and only for money not because your hungry. ODH is just a greedy prick who should stay outside the ring instead of us wasting our time watching him.
