Frank Warren's attempt to prevent IBF light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton fighting Carlos Maussa will be heard on Monday.
Warren's Sports Network Group are taking legal proceedings against the Manchester fighter over a contractual dispute.
Warren insists that Sports Network have Hatton tied to a three-fight deal while the boxer believes he is now a free agent.
Hatton hopes to take on Colombia's WBA title holder Carlos Maussa on November 26 in a unification match-up at the Sheffield Arena in a one-off promotional arrangement with Dennis Hobson's Fight Academy.
However, Warren, after previously guiding Hatton through the first 39 bouts of his career, will attempt to pull the plug on that showdown.
"Sports Network Ltd have applied for an interim injunction restraining Ricky Hatton from fighting with any other promoter," said Warren's solicitor Robert Campbell.
"That application will be heard at the High Court in London on Monday, October 3."
Warren added: "I'm very sorry that it has come to this situation and what I have done, I have done with great reluctance.
"But I am determined to protect Sports Network's contractual position and ensure Ricky Hatton fulfils his obligations."
-----------------------
This is starting to get on my nerves... I understand why Warren is doing this, but I heard rumours that he's been saying he'll ruin Hatton's career and if he gets his way, Hatton will never fight again.
Well with that attitude, he's not gonna win over any fans!
