Does Golden Boy's apology set them back in the boxing game?

Many thought GB would over take Top Rank and every other promotional firm out there and would basically have the Don King like monopoly he had in the 80's and early 90's

Does this "apology" hinder their firm? do they now look weak and like a second fiddle to Top Rank???

    What say you???

The only one it sets back is Mayweather. They kind of painted him into a corner.

I think Manny could win big against May in court.

It didn't make them look weak but it did prove them to be unprofessional even in the world of boxing promoters

i don't think that it tarnishes them or anything, long term at least.

these guys are smart businessmen who know when they've messed up, got into a bad deal, or flat out ****ed up.

they know how to " cut their losses " and they know that the american public and basically the world in general, forget and forgive, and they also know, that no matter what you do, no matter how good you are or on top, 30% of the populace isnt going to like you or what you do or say........, thats a statistical fact for all of us in this world...........

schaefer is ******edly smart with business, money, analysis, etc....... i am sure GBP is moving in very calculated movements.........

they know that the short term, this is a flash knockdown.

GBP know years from now, when people or someone wants to bring this up to use against them, they've corrected their stance and tied up their end of things properly and respectfully, and thats all that can be brought up about it, they admit they were in no way in the right and apologize, only someone who wants to dwell on it will keep bringing it up, which most people will want whats next or whats new and wont care about the past and their company's old learning experiences and growing pains.........

just look at king or arum's past, people know about it, know they did some real shady stuff, but at the end of the day, they don't care enough to boycott them or anything like that, they don't care enough to a point, they still throw money at them for what they can make happen......... and every time I and any of you pay for a seat ticket, or ppv, we're forgetting their past and saying what can you provide this time???? i know, but don't care enough to say anything other than, i hope i get my monies worth from this fight!!!

Arum was blatanly busted for bribery back in the day and he's still around with a top promotional company. GBP merely apologized for blowing their su****ions about Pacquiao out of proportion.

It would probably set them back a few notches if they didn't have a good crop of fighters in their stable.

I don't know about set them back, as they are most likely the second best next to Top Rank, but it does make them look weak, and like a bunch of dumb ****s. The way I see it they NEED Top Rank, whereas Top Rank was doing fine without them. They went from blatantly accusing Pac of steroid use to claiming they never intended to infer he was on Peds. That to me illustrates weakness, as well as neediness. As long as Arum has Pac he calls the shots.
