Im talking about from a PPV standpoint. Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, JMM are all PPV fighters to different extents. Bradley is a total nobody. How would they sell that fight?

Now if he had beaten Khan, it might be a different situation.

Manny is the star of the show and Bradley looks like he can fight, put them next to each other with Bradley looking like Mr. America and people will buy it thinking it will be a heck of a fight.

Right or wrong it doesn't matter it can be sold just by that picture.

I thought Mayweather said this was a business and that his opponents needed to bring some money to the fight too. No way Bradley gets a fight with Mayweather. He has no fans.

I dont consider him viable right now.. he needs to beat Khan or Ortiz for their belts then that would make him much more viable.. but it all boils down to marketing.. they could sell almost any fight with a competent marketing team..

He would have made more than $1.8 million against khan, you are looking at much closer to $2.5-3 million when you consider 50% UK ppv revenue (don't forget the British £ is quite a bit stronger than than the $ even in this economy). Even with that type of pay day he makes more money against pac/may, most of the guys got it right here. He would get a decent minimum, more than the $1.4 he was getting against khan, for sure (probably something like $2-3 million). Some things to consider:

- He is generally considered the #1 at 140 even if it highly disputable with khan in the picture most people would have him at 1 and khan at 2 going into the fight...as of today.

-He is undefeated and American and they can certainly build up a lot of hype around him with a 24/7, he is something new to the general public, and again the most important point being a young hungry american challenger who is very marketable out of the ring imo.

-He would probably get somewhere around 10% of the ppv revenue and even if it flopped that would be a lot of money, for example if the fight only did 500k buys (which I don't think it would btw) it would still net him an additional $1 million+.

Much more mainstream exposure. If he is competitive, which im sure in his head he believes he will be, it will set him up for big fights in the future win or lose more people will tune in and watch him again then if he hadn't fought pacquiao.

Saying all of this I do believe he should have taken the khan fight like almost everyone else, but based on my views in the above points I think he could have potentially made a sound business decision, thus I disagree with your opinion. But time will tell.
