BoxingScene.com had recently broken the news that former belt holder David Diaz "priced himself out" for the opportunity to fight WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez in a junior welterweight bout on July 16 in Mexico. It doesn't get you ready for Pac but it does keep you competitively busy (sparring alone can't compare) benefitting JMM from a mental point of view

Stop the pointless tune up **** and just make the Pacquiao fight sooner. Use that $150,000 to hire top notch nutritionists and personal trainers as well as great sparring partners. Focus on adding weight effectively so you don't lose speed/mobility and get some bigger, speedy southpaws and put in more rounds in sparring.

Marquez gains nothing from fighting David Diaz, and Diaz was right to turn down the low ball offer. How does a Diaz fight at lightweight get you ready for Pacquiao?

The fight will be at 140 for one and Pac has fought twice since JMM's last fight... He def can use a tune-up type fight and IMO Diaz is a fool... He should have took the 150K which is actually a little more than he's worth and ran... SMH

WTF was David Diaz thinking? That is way more than what he is worth at this point in his career! I was thinking in the range of 50-75 K max. Now David Diaz can go and get ko'd like Julio Diaz did on FNF for 25 k!
