Margarito was nowhere near as refined as Castillo but he'd be an equally tough challenge for Floyd with his size and non-stop activity. Not to mention, Floyd hadn't grown into welter at that time while Tony was in his prime and a physical beast. Floyd would win the UD but the crowd would be booing him over the last three rounds IMO.

And, it doesn't bother me when people say Floyd would win. Because, I agree with that. What bothers me is when people say that it would be just like Baldomir or as easy as the Baldomir fight. It kind of proves to me that they weren't watching boxing back then. When people make comments like that.
Baldomir couldn't hold a prime Margarito's jock strap.

I hear ya bro. I mean there was a reason baldo was called " Cinderella man ". Dude got lucky getting the upset on Judah which was supposed to be judah's tune up for floyd. Baldomir was a journey man who got a win over judah. Meanwhile Margarito was tearing thru the WW division.

no scenario where marg beats Floyd, we just like to say it because they never fought.

haha margarito would stand no chance against floyd. even if he had his favorite gloves on (the loaded kind), funny to see people compare this to castillo, they are two completely different fighters, not to mention i had floyd comfortably winning both fights against castillo, only *******s and people that score ineffective aggression think JLC got robbed in the first fight, i actually thought the 2nd fight was closer than the first, margarito's a punching bag and floyd would not lose a round to him unless he took one off

He would have to be the Margarito from the Cotto fight(insert plaster joke here), that guy who didn't care what he was getting hit with. He would be unable to do a damn thing about Mayweather's offense, but Mayweather wouldn't be able to really hurt him at all. If Margarito was as relentless with his pressure and volume as he was against Cotto, he would have a good chance, though I wouldn't pick him.

The first Castillo fight wasn't a robbery. It was too close to be called a robbery. But, how can anybody think the 2nd Castillo fight was closer than the first? WTF?

Plus Tony needs an accumulation of punches to hurt his opponent, he's not a 1 punch KO guy. I don't see him being able to land enough shots on Floyd to stop him.
did you not see castillo beating floyd? imagine that but in a much more convincing way

Sometimes I wish Floyd was still under the toprank banner. Otherwise we would have

                      Floyd vs cotto
                      Floyd vs marg
                      And Floyd vs pacq
LOL... Baldomir was nowhere near Margaritto. Baldomir for the majority of his career was a journeyman. If it weren't for the pathetic efforts of Zab you may have never of heard of him. Couple that with the fact that Baldomir has nowhere near the punch output or power of Margs. Margs even has a better chin, even though that is quite essentially Baldomir's best attribute.
