Malignaggi attended his friend Ronny"Venezuela"Vargas's funeral this past week . Malignaggi was very sad to see his friend with whom he grew up in the amateurs with pass away at such a young age . After the funeral services where over Paulie went to Ronny's father and presented him his World Title belt and had told him "Your son was going to eventually have one of these had he lived long enough , But since that can't happen he can have this one instead " The move by the champion was very classy and just goes to show how deeply affected the NY boxing community has been hurt with this tragedy .
