Comments Thread For: Omar Chavez Could Possibly Face Jorge Paez Jr. Next

On Saturday in Mexicali, welterweight contender Omar Chavez (26-0, 19KOs) stopped Genaro Trazancos in four rounds. Omar's legendary father, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., was very pleased with his performance - stating - "despite six months of inactivity, I saw progress. I think he looked very good." Chavez Sr. said his son could face Jorge "Maromerito" Páez Jr. (27-4-1, 17KOs) in his next fight. Another opponent mentioned by Chavez Sr. was Argentine boxer Luciano Cuello, who lost in the past to older brother Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Paez Jr. is a solid fighter but is a lightweight/jr. welterweight. So I'm not sure how meaningful that what be (even though Paez would probably still school Omar)... I wish they would be ****** enough to put him in against Cuello so Cuello can school this bum!!! I remember when people were saying that Omar was better than his brother Julio; clearly they didn't know what the hell they were talking about. I'm not saying Julio is a great fighter but atleast he has solid technique (which in my opinion makes him a solid fighter). But this Omar guy is a complete joke!!! He's got terrible technique; such that he makes Margacheato look like Pernell Whitaker!!!
