Back in the 80's, before PPV we had to go to the Halifax forum to watch them on closed circuit. It would sell out every time. About 7000 of us roaring along with the fight. That night was so much fun. Great fight spoiled by a regrettable decision. The fight was awesome along with the atmosphere though.

WTF? Here we had two ATG fighters with a score to settle. They could have been fighting for a belt made out of actual paper and nobody would have cared. This fight was not about a belt, but about two great fighters giving back to the sport.

By missing out on the 80's, you missed out on so much in the sport. The talent pool was 10X what it is today. Those were the true glory days. Late 70's into the 80's were the best the sport has ever seen IMO.

It is great you can still see how great it was on video though!hehe

hehe yeah. Trust me on this. It is hard for me to get up for this sport these days. I am forced to make myself forget how good it used to be.
