So why has Hopkins become so active again all of a sudden? Didn't he only have like 2 fights in 2 years before his first fight with Pascal?

Yeah that might have something to do with it because Dawson's contract with Pascal guaranteed him an immediate rematch. So for Hopkins had to agree to fight Dawson if he wanted him to step aside.
