      No hes not. He has better speed and power but gets hit alot and has bad technique. He was getting tagged alot by a guy who was shot and moving up. I dont see him winning a tittle at welter.

          he has big power he will be a champion ofcourse not this year or next he is 21 years old.was he ever hurt looks like chavez bros cant get hit in the face cuz if they do people say they are bums LOL.omar is on good track more training at wild card thats for sure

              Omar is better than jr. he can box alittle. jr is a loud mouth statue.they are making good money though

                I didn't see the fight(I'm about to look it up) but from what I've read, there was no reason to stop the fight..It was the commission in Mexicali that ordered to stop the fight, not the ref & crowd was pissed!! I was just in notifight(spanish boxing site from Mexico) & they are RIPPING Omar Chavez apart!!(most of them calling him garbage) I don't know how much he has improved(if any) cause I've seen Omar fight before & he looked like garbage, if it wasn't because his father is a boxing legend, no one would know who the hell he is...
